Can't rule out the remaining Loyalists just yet. I doubt that they were all wiped out during the Covenant Civil War.

Maybe, but if that was the case would he it not just be a single boss and not a hoard of monsters to fight through?

He'd be the primary antagonist, like Truth was, but we'd also be fighting his armies, which is where the Flood come in (and not the boring zombie Flood either, true Flood, with an infinite number of possible creatures to fight).

either the flood zombie covenant or maybe a new enemy possibly friends of the covenant. i hope flood returns. i love those guys. we might also face spartan traitors. or quite possibly the heretics that helped us try to overthrow us. really there is an endless amount of possible enemies maybe UNSC falls and the spartans take sides or it becomes a power struggle for all spartans and becomes a free for all. i would love to see that as well. or maybe we just fight rebels. i don't know what the new or old enemy is going to be. whatever it is im sure 343 wont disappoint. but the enemy has to be strong and powerful after all it is the start of a new trilogy.

There's no way that it's just the flood. The structure that captured the ship was in way too good of shape to be flood controlled.

Azure Deity - Helljumping Since The Start.

San'Shyuum aren't really options and the Sangheili seem to be for the most part on chief's side. Logical conclusion is either the flood or more rampant Forerunner tech or a combination of both therein.

we already got enough of the flood in the original trilogy. And we defeated them already after the battle of installation 00. There are probably some leftover in the scattered halo rings, but i highly doubt that the flood will be the main enemy you fight in the new trilogy (maybe some flood spores here and there on the side).

I would find it pretty lame if the "dark" and "ancient" threat that threatens the fate of the entire universe turns out to be the flood. . . again.

Another possible enemy may be one of those other races that guilty spark mentioned visited the halo ring before the humans or the covenant. Since they already came into contact with forerunner technology long before the series, it could be a golden opportunity to expand on them. Perhaps the terminals in CEA might touch on another race, after all the teaser did have guilty spark stating that he wants to fill MC in on all the events that have happened in the forerunner's absence.

We will have to wait until November 15th.

Like i said, it would be pretty lame from a gameplay perspective to be fighting the flood for the majority of a game. That is of course, if 343i does not do anything creative with them.

Then again, the primordial makes everything more interesting in my humble opinion.

I myself am really opting for that eerie image at the end of the halo 4 concept art trailer to be some sort of new never before seen species (it looked like a cybernetic entity, seeing how it already looked much more advanced than any covenant species). Again, like i previously stated, perhaps one of those races to have come to the ring before.

All guessing aside, I really just don't want to see the elites, or other former covenant species again. The flood can have limited time, as long as they're not in the same form as they were in the original trilogy. The primordial could perhaps be manipulating other species as well for his own reasons, or as greg bear put it during comic-con "perpetual war".

I'm frickin working for Bungie someday!

i think the idea about the moa is funny.
the covanent can still be alive. there were some positioned way out in the galaxy past the reach of the blasts of halo rings. the flood and elites(ones to far for radio contact that wouldn't know about the elite-human alliance) could still be out there. The master chief was likely teleported to the area beyond the reach of the of the rings. the gravemind is dead so any ramaining flood either died as well or went rogue.... there is of course the possibility of having new enemies
