I am buying a new comp and know how to tell which ones have better ram or memory, but im quite lots of the whole graphics card bit. I know you need a good one to play good games, but I have no clue how to tell which ones better.

Is a pentium 4 better? Or an intel celaron proccesor better? They also got numbers after them, something about megahertz?! If someone could help id really apreciate it.

Depends on your taste. And what you want to do. If it's gaming you want, get one with a good video card, good processing speed(GHz), and lot's of RAM.

I don't really know much about all teh individual computers, though.

Pentium 4's are alot better than Celerons. AMD Athlons 64's are also good processors. For ram you're going to want around 1024mb of DDR ram pc3200. Mhz is the internal clock of the Processor usually the faster the better the performance but a 2.17 GHz AMD is comparable to a 3 GHz Intel Pentium 4 based on the work per clock that the AMD does.
For an Intel system:
3 ghz+ processor with an 800 MHz fsb
1024mb of pc3200 DDR ram
Either a 9800pro, 6800GT or X800XT
Maybe an audigy 2 soundcard

AMD system
Althon 64 3000+ or higher

That should last you for awhile.

Yeah but you cant always find something that good that isnt custom built. And if you do then its going to cost a lot of money.

And dont waste money on Alienware when you can make your own thats better for half the price. And a decent graphics card is about 130mb. Thats all ya need. My friend just got a dell 2400 with 1 gig of RAM and a 130 mb graphics card. Oh and look for the DDR ram not just your regular stuff.
