Subject: I have some general Halo Questions!

1) Why the hell does Captain Keyes carry an unloaded magnum, and where did he pull it out of?! Does he like looking at it? Where does he carry it?! (In game he pulls it out of his ass)

2) Why doesn't he talk to Cortana like his wife, because technically she is (she must have memory of their hookup to make Miranda)

3) Does Cortana ever acknowledge Miranda's death like losing a daughter?

4) Why is Dr. Halsey alive and Jun considered dead?

5) Why even bother activating the Halo array if the goal is to starve the flood, because once the flood consume everything they wil still starve.

6) Halo 3 ends with John going to bed and then him flying towards the Forerunner thing. Halo 4 starts in the same location. Is Halo 4 ten minutes after Halo 3?

I need answers people!

- Not sure why he keeps it unloaded, but as for WHERE he carries it...c'mon, give the GAME a break. Even in Halo: Reach we don't get to see smooth transitions when swapping weapons on and off our back, lol.

- He doesn't talk to Cortana like his wife because, TECHNICALLY, she isn't, she's an A.I. It would make him look really stupid to talk to an A.I. like that.

- Cortana doesn't acknowledge her death like that.

- We don't know exactly...

- Are you asking this as a question to humans or the Covenant? The Covenant didn't know how the rings worked at first, and even when they did, the Prophets will still blind and/or unable to let the Covenant fall apart due to realizing that their entire faith and Great Journey wasn't true. The humans wanted to destroy the rings, the Ark, whatever...to keep the Covenant from using them.

6) Halo 3 ends with John going to bed and then him flying towards the Forerunner thing. Halo 4 starts in the same location. Is Halo 4 ten minutes after Halo 3?

I see you added this...

No, not 10 minutes... John goes into cryosleep, then the scene fades... That's the end of that. Then, another scene fades in showing them floating towards a planet...the time span between these scenes is in YEARS, not minutes. We don't know exactly how many years yet...

I'm 23, I have a house, dog, girlfriend, job and I have no interest in any fanboyism so if you're thinking about sending me a childish PM, don't be surprised when I don't call back.

Why doesn't he talk to Cortana like his wife, because technically she is (she must have memory of their hookup to make Miranda)

Captain Keyes and Dr Halsey were never married and they always had a professional relationship, I see no reason for him to be strange around Cortana.

Why even bother activating the Halo array if the goal is to starve the flood, because once the flood consume everything they wil still starve.

Correct, but then everyone would be dead so that's hardly a good idea.

Halo 3 ends with John going to bed and then him flying towards the Forerunner thing. Halo 4 starts in the same location. Is Halo 4 ten minutes after Halo 3?

It might be years after the end of Halo 3, we will know more after Glasslands, which is set in that time frame.

I'm talking about the forerunner. How is killing everything with a super weapon better than everything being killed by something else. What's the point. The flood isn't even local to the Milky Way.

I added some stuff to my post too... :)

Anyway, the Forerunner couldn't contain the flood. They spread too quickly and very soon become organized and intelligent (due to the development of Graveminds). They themselves, are the food for the flood, and they realized the only way to stop them was to kill off their food and let them starve to death. Some Forerunner retreated to shield worlds, but everything outside them had to be wiped clean.

But they didn't stop them! The Flood obviously infected other Galaxies as well. The forerunner killed more than the flood did!

Cortana's statement is not true.

the array kills flood. if you are infect, can get infected, you will die.

It just can't kill the basic form the infection form.

Well for the first one think about it if the gun went off it would put a hole in the pressurized cabin and the cabin would impload. The next, cortana is an AI incarnation of dr halsey, uploaded with all her memories. All the hints lead to beleave that the way that dr halsey intergrated forunner tec in cortana caused a forunner AI to attach itself to cortana and is slowly becoming more progressive in her personality (her crazyness and random quoting of unkown things like "I have defied gods and demons" gods being the forunners and demons being the flood) see the article about halo 4 being in plane sight, and the AI is also seemingly corupting her. some of these hints are the terminals, her 1st person quotes, her talking to the gravemind, and in halo 2 in the scene after the credits.

Lmao, this is true in context, because if they consume the entire universe, then there would be no more food.

that is impossible, that is like saying a single ant could walk across asia.

Even IF the flood could do that by time they get to the "end" life would have formed at the "Start".

1) He's a strategist not a soldier.
2) He's not that creepy and dependent, and they weren't married.
3) No.
4) Jun got pwned at some point, Halsey survived.
5) Plot device.
6) Yes. No time has passed. That cut was no indicator of passed time.

Have you heard the theory that the ark was really a teleporter and that the great journey is really going through the teleporter to a forunner shield world safe from the rings ? lisen you can either absorb all the hidden knowledge of the halo games, books, and movies or you can read articles about halo 4 theories

The Halo effect also destroys the infected hosts, taking away the Flood's ability to use technology, most importantly space ships. Had the Forerunners just waited out, the Flood could eventually have discovered The Ark.

Nope, OP's thinking is sound. Ten minutes after Chief enters cryo he reaches that planet, as evidenced in the Halo 4 trailer by the accumulated snow from the short amount of time and his new armour.

  • 07.27.2011 1:00 PM PDT

actually the fact that chief's heart took so long too start beating again out of cryo stasis shows he has been in cryo for way past the safe amount of time.

You clearly have not been keeping updated as everything has been saying it is years after halo 3. Cortana in origins is near 7 years old which she wasn't in halo 3, frankie at comic con says it takes place " a little" after halo 3.

Exactly, a little after Halo 3 as in ten minutes.

"Halo! Its divine wind will rush through the stars, propelling all who are worthy along the path to salvation."

The Flood is not local to The Milky Way yes, but you have to look at this, The Forerunners look at themselves as the protectors of life in the Galaxy. Once The Flood reached to the point that they were unstoppable they thought, if we don't stop The Flood now they will hijack our galaxy and use our technology and infect more galaxies. Possibly ending Life in the Universe. To eradicate the Flood is what needed to kill their food source, Life, Halo was the last resort when all other things failed. There was actually 11 Halo Rings. Some got destroyed in the battle between Mendicant Bias and The Forerunner Fleet. When The Flood had advanced to the last Forerunner stronghold, The Maginot Line was design to stop the Flood on their tracks. Offensive Bias would take the battle to The Flood Fleet which had Mendicant Bias as their Admiral. When more Flood ships came, The Forerunner saw that their defeat was close. As a last resort, They activated the Halos. In a moment all life was killed in the galaxy along with then current Flood Infestation. But they, The Forerunners, saved life also, as they categorized living organisms to preserve them. Sadly the Flood was put on The Halos for study. They are still out there, in stasis...

It is quite possible. An ant could walk across Asia. It very improbable though.

The halo kills every flood except the little infection forms, which are not that big of a threat until they actually start infecting people.

  • 07.27.2011 1:12 PM PDT

actually thats frost from unthawing and it was way longer than ten minutes because it took longer than that for cortana(really mediciant's personality talking) to explain the forunners' past aboard the ship in halo legends. not to mention even if it was snow they are in subzero space conditions because the ship is split in half.

explain to me how an ant with an average lifspan of 90 days could walk a few hundred miles? across various climates?
