Subject: How many mods?

I was just online and thought that there's been a pretty even number of mods, and its been that way for over a year already. Is there a set amount that you guys strive for, or is it purely based on whether you think someone would make a good mod, or a mix of both? Grr...that was long.

here's the nice question: do you have a set number of moderators for bnet? If not, then do you allow members to become moderators when you feel they would do a good job at it?

And when i say 'you', i mean it in that south park sense, where they say "omg, they killed kenny!" The 'they' is like the 'you'.

Forum Tutorials --- WATCH THEM AND LEARN

The forums dont' really need that many people to police them. Usually, there is always at least one moderator on at a time, and that's with about 16-18 that we have now, so i think we're not doing too bad.

No set amount. Just when it seems that the forums are getting a little rowdy. And when current moderators high tail it for a while.

*doesn't look at Imp, GJJ or Dmb*

Ok, damn I do know who he is. I guess the "Imp" just didn't click with "Impurity".

It did make me think of a "7" though... (like that in his GamerTag)

I remember imp before the accident. he was a loveable sober man who enjoyed fine wines and wearing evening jackets; occasionally smoking the odd cigar.......Ooooh you mean Impurity the drunkard! I understand, Great_Pretender.

Anyway, getting back on topic, i really don't see why any forums would have a set amount. Perhaps some may set a limit, but that limit would change, thus rendering the limit pointless. Really, the best way i think is to have the amount you need except for in exceptional circumstances.

I'm not that active, but never dead.

I've always wondered if there is like a mathimatical equation for how many mods there are...

Regular members X ____1____ -- 1000members / 1 million = Mods
"New" Members... ..Total Members

Or maybe it's all rubbish.

I will be.

In about two months.

umm...wow. I didn't expect so many responces...that were absolutely useless. Got answered by tgp and all hell broke loose. Funny...so many mods in here...

j/k. I figured it was something like that.

We dont need new mods and the amount of mods we have now will be enough hopefully until the next project. And Imp...is an awesome mod. He just prefers the shadows.

*Whoosh* What was that? Did Impurity just fly by?

I am highly doubting new mods are needed at the moment. A couple more may be added when the Next Project is released (or even announced), but these...14 or 15 or however many can handle most of the things that are thrown at them. If they can't handle it, they aren't on at the moment.

  • 03.09.2006 10:56 AM PDT

yeah, but also sometimes mods get under excrutiating circumstances where they have no time to moderate. Like dmb for example, had his boss tell him he's not allowed to go on bnet during work, and he doesn't have dsl at his house, so he'll be gone for a few months. I remember that happened with a few mods, and its perfectly understandible.

  • 03.09.2006 2:24 PM PDT

If you don't got it, you want it. If you got it, you want more of it. Of course if you don't know what it is, it's hard to get any in the first place.

Impurity? Man, I haven't seen him very much...I think the first time I ever saw him was right after Reiginko stepped down...but I haven't seen him active since then....

Some mods decide to stick with shadows. They are Ninja's.
