Did you know that 93% of all statistics on the internet are made up on the spot, and that 68% of readers believe them?

I have found on multiple occasions that when I sign on and post on a regular basis for a few days or a week or so, my member title jumps back up to an "Honorable Heroic Member".

However, when I am absent for a few days or don't have the time to keep my posting up as much as I normally do, my member title reverts back to simply an "Honorable Member".

Why is this?

Its not that I post on this site simply for a little title next to my name..I really wouldn't care if it stays the same forever.

It keeps happening repeatedly and I just simply don't understand the reasoning behind it.

Yes it does. You need to be active to achieve Heroic/Legendary/Mythic.

I believe there is a member title thread somewhere, I wish I could find it for you, but I am leaving to take my dog for a walk.

Being inactive will make your title go down.

This is the way the world ends;
Not with a bang but a whimper.

While being inactive appears to affect your title to begin with, after you have had it for, say, a month, you can be off of Bungie.net for a week or two and nothing will happen.

Right. This is what I am talking about. I have had the title for a while now and yet everytime I take a short break from regular posting it changes back. They should revise this. Once you earn a title, you should be able to keep it indefinitely. Unless of course you get warned or banned, etc.

He'd have instantly stopped and knelt down, one fist on the ground, hoping to be impervious to the officer's attacks. When this would have failed and he's in the back of the police car, he'd blame his predicament on his friends for not being team players.

No, it wouldn't work. Especially considering Mythic is a competitive title that only so many can hold at one time. I could achieve mythic, then never post again.

In jedem system der Macht gibt es korruption.

Det vore klokt att tro att det inte finns några undantag.

Yes, being inactive you become 'Absent' whereas if you are active you become 'Heroic'. If you are active for a much longer time you become 'Legendary' or 'Mythic'.

I think just logging in once a month would count as active.

Not even that often. I believe 3 months of absenteeism is required for the Absent title.

It does, it's weird because if I play reach for a little bit each day I was able to bump up to Mythic, now that i've taken a break from reach (but I am still very active here on the forums) I dropped back down to legendary. So yes, inactivity does affect your member title.

For me it was weird. I was heroic, then dropped to noble, then was inactive for a few months (I think I logged in a few times, but never posted). Anyways, I start being active again and the first day I'm back I'm an "Exalted Member" (I know this is related to bans, not activity), and within a day of posting I bump up to "Exalted Heroic". No idea how that happened.

See? When I created this thread just yesterday, I was an Honorable Member. Now I have just been bumped back to Honorable Heroic Member. This is exactly what I'm talking about.

Maybe we should be able to keep the title for a little longer amount of time than is currently allotted...?

Mythical Group

There is no greater catharsis than arguing on the Flood.

The title system is very specific. It doesn't say "and let this stay for so long before they stop posting," it's rooted in trust points as well as activity and age. It can't exactly be adjusted on the fly. The reason why you keep reverting is not because it changes too fast, it's because you've only barely met requirements for the title. Just keep doing what you do though because trust points and age continue to influence it.

This happens to me all the time. I've managed to log on a bit more recently and keep my Heroic but its probably happened about 5 times where I would have Heroic for two weeks then normal member for a week and so on.
