Of course. Anyone blogging in their sig would need to abide by the normal rules of posting to Bungie.net.

It's worth pointing out that stosh has added a "this website is not your blog" rule, particularly in the Flood, but in general that seems like an obvious rule for the forums in general.

My advice is to use your sig as a forum signature.

Man, I should request Achronos lower the sig limit to 10 characters or something.

Well people do have links to some ofsite locations such as myspace or other websites. However remember that a link to anything inapropiate will result in a blacklisting. bungie stuff is highly encouraged.

Seriously, i think 150-200 chars is more than enough for a sig.

  • 03.09.2006 10:00 AM PDT

I was going to say that its probably alright, although shiska ain't to thrilled about it...

so i suggest you just FORGET IT! MWAHAHAHAHA!

no, why don't you just update it every day, but instead of using it as a blog just have your own blog website and update that every day, and put in you're sig a link that says something different, which would in turn be relevant to you're blog. That would be exceptionally ok, I think.

  • 03.09.2006 10:09 AM PDT

I don't see how it could be something wrong for the forums...doesn't really break any rules and it demands that someone click the link to see what its about, so it would be the user's fault, not yours. Should be fine.

Wouldn't linking your sig to IGN's halo blog, and it saying that halo 3 IS in the making also be in violation of the rule, just like you writing your blog and saying the halo 3 IS in the making and linking it in your sig would be against a rule, as you said?

But I like my 11 links... I think maybe the limit should be lowered, but then URLs and stuff inside [ ]'s shouldn't count. So the URL isn't long, but you can still cram all the crappy links to stupid groups that you want.

The difference would be that perhaps you hadn't been checking the IGN blog yourself. And therefore you didn't know what they wrote on the particular day that the offensive text was there. But it was still linked in your sig.

So, your link doesn't change. But the content does change. And you don't always stay on top of it. That's the situation I was trying to describe.

BTW, Spartakus, I saw Frankie's Navy never got that list done in time for Valentine's Day. Maybe next year.

We've been having problems. like frankie not actually posting

But back to the point. I see what your saying now. It just wasn't as clear in your earlier posts.

I don't use caps lock very often but ...

LONG SIGS ARE BLAMMING ANNOYING.

I think the limit should be on lines not characters, but maybe that's not as easily done. I don't know how many lines 500 characters would be but if its more than 7, then yuk. The problem really isn't with characters. It's lines as it takes up space. This post was about 360 characters

I prefer cramming links to worthwhile and interesting groups. I get more out of the private groups than most of the forums.

Well, I agree with Shishka that the Char limit should be set lower. But I would say maybe 250?

I agree, and as a mod said: the letters between the [ ] shouldent count, then it could be a 250 limit, or 200
