Subject: Primordium summary released...(Chakas-Chief relation??)

Hmm... Delta Halo perhaps? And Palace of Pain=Library? I think that whole bit really further reinforces the connections between the Prisoner and the Gravemind (man, they must really love giving an unending parade of title to this guy XD haha). I can't wait for this book :D

I think that this whole trilogy might be addressed to Master Chief, because Bornstellar seems to be talking to somebody in Cryptum...I wonder if we'll get a new character narrating in the third book or if it will Bornstellar again, or be narrated by multiple characters?

And how does this confirm no Covenant and UNSC in H4...?

I wish to know as well, this summary does not have any obvious connections to Halo 4 or its trilogy, especially since they aren't out yet. Frankly Grey, it seems to me that you're beginning to grasp at straws to support your view point, I don't necessarily think you're wrong, but I think you're holding onto that belief a little too tightly and you're starting to interpret any new information through that lens. I think it's still far too early to make any concrete claims on the matter.

I mean don't get me wrong, the concept that the UNSC and the Covies won't appear is pretty intriguing and opens a whole list of possibilities.

But then problems like human weaponry not appearing in game except for the first level or so come up, and the fact I have seen exactly zero evidence to support it.

Chakas is the smartest person in that group. Fortress of Eternal Suffering would be a better term, though.

Chakas HAS to be the mysterious "living" creature that introduces every new data pad in H:R.

It talks like a living creature, criticizing what the AIs are doiung, but it obviously isn't if it lived as long as it states.

Chakas, most likely, until other info supports otherwise.

I expect priomordial ends up being the thing that created the flood (could still potentially be the gravemind in any case but...who knows). I expect it will be the enemy in H4-6

The thought of them turning chakas into offensive bias is interesting too. OB survived so...who knows?

It will be interesting to see how this all wraps up to the ending we know in the third book.

no offense intended but im going to go with grey on this one. it has been stated that the lack of purple tint in halo 4's title is a removal of the old enemie's i.e covenant. did nobody else read this? pretty sure it was in OFXM or an interview. but yeah they are focusing on a new time and a new enemy the chief lorewise atleast was never found either by the unsc or any space faring specie's that are left of the covenant. so thats pretty clear to me that in halo 4 at least we will have entirely new enemies/allies through out the game(s).

See thats the problem. Announcing the Covenant are out 100% would be huge news to gaming sites across the globe. It'd also be a MASSIVE story spoiler and hinting at a lot things they shouldn't be hinting at this early.

Knowing this, I fully expected to get a good 5000 related topics on Google or Bing discussing the lack of Covies or even UNSC. As it stands, that "announcement" was never made, nobody has heard of such a thing except for a few out-of-the-way small game sites. I cannot find the quote anywhere--and believe me, I've looked--and nobody seems capable of providing me or anyone else who is as in the dark the quote itself. And even some who have seen the quote say that they were talking about the trailer, not game.

Thus leading to the feeling that these people are grasping at straws.

Rob just because YOU didn't see it does not mean it didn't happen and that is the most ignorant thing i have ever heard you say.

Live during E3 frankie clearly said "no purple", if you were asleep or doing anything else you missed it. Coma missed it to and the only thing slasher and i could find on it was a commercial with a reporter saying "no purple" before a break WITH frankie in next room.

It exist, get over it. I have yet to find the BWU saying ONI new of the flood yet i clearly remember seeing it around IRIS time and have been looking for years. Just because you can't find it does not mean it does not exists.

If no UNSC or Covenant they are going to create ALL NEW weapons from scratch? Highly doubt it.

*sigh*

apparently there are weapons on FoD and a few covenant ones could be in due to the fact the arbiter brought some over.

And new weapons are not that hard since they had to make ones from scratch 10 years ago and with halo wars.

  • 07.29.2011 11:09 AM PDT

I can say that I did quite clearly hear Frankie say 'no purple' in an interview, which, to me, means no Covenant. Individual species, though, is a different story.

"ITS OVER YOU JUST DON'T KNOW IT YET"

Okay......but throughout the campaign in each Halo game there are weapons scattered for you to pick up because there was either a UNSC or covie presence at whatever location you were at. If the locations are all Forerunner they CANT scatter old weapons throughout the levels it wouldnt make any sense. Is Chief going to back track to FOD everytime he needs another clip for an AR? While i dont mind new weapons, creating ALL new weapons would not work for MP and Frankie said they are going to stay true to the old gameplay.

Thank you.

And that is fruitless because that is how somebody identify the races, hell in "the mona lisa" a marine clearly calls an elite "that covenant". during the entire story you hear "covenant" more than you do elites.

Oh look a covenant i thought they said they weren't in halo 4?

that's not a covenant, thats an elite!

What's the difference?

I think some refer to the individual species as 'Covenant' due to the fact that they are a part of the Covenant. All they need to know is that they are a part of the alien force who's trying to kill them. Others have different names for them, which are derived from the individual characteristics of the species.

And you're welcome. I thought the 'no purple' statement was general knowledge at this point. Seems people can't quite find footage, though.

canon-wise are the elites and kig'yar the only space traveling specie's left of the covenant classes? so they could make an apperance in Halo 4. as for weapons the LP looks like a forerunner shiled world now at the time of the F-F war im sure the forerunners would have stocked some weapons in there incase any flood made it into the shield world.

Lekgolo could have ships.

Elites are far too busy and don't have enough ships anyway.

Kig-yar would have no business on that planet.

Only races that would make any remote sense would be lekgolo and engineers.

Well I'm actually pretty excited about this. Really been getting back into Halo lately.

Every since Cryptum came out I've thought that the Spartans' unique genetic structure which actually enabled them to become Spartans was the result of a genas the Forerunners programmed. Perhaps it happened in these experiments and was passed down through generations, a recessive allele in most but dominant in a few.

Or something like that. We'll see.

I do need to catch up though. I only skimmed through Cryptum in an e-book I downloaded. I'll have to buy it on Amazon. Also, I don't see how this proves the UNSC isn't in Halo 4.

Also, could the humans being experimented upon be the ones being turned into monitors? What if 343 GS isn't a Forerunner-turned-monitor as some hypothesise but is in fact a human-turned-monitor?

I don't know, something to ponder.

Reason why i think that is because Chakas is talking to the last true reclaimer There is no doubt it's the Chief

Reason why i think that is because Chakas is talking to the last true reclaimer There is no doubt it's the Chief.

well funnily enough we never hear anyone or anything other then forerunner tech GS/PT etc refer to humans as reclaimers so maybe the monitors of istallations aren't ancilla's but instead durance's(spelling) of long perished humans.

and to you grey that's certainly true though i think kig yar could still be looking for forerunner tech to sell on to the elites or any other race seeing as they have a long history of being smugglers/pirates/etc etc so far my knowledge of the halo verse extends as fars as: halo reach, halo ce,halo2,odst,halo3,the mona lisa, crypyum, first strike, the, flood, fall of reach, contact harvest, and the official halo encyclopedia book, so as for how humanity, elites, etc are doing after the war i have no idea could you please P.M and fill me in with the gaps?

By the power of truth, I, while living, have conquered the universe.

Humans call the Prisoner "the Primordial"? Yet another Gravemind reference, Major John Smith in The Mona Lisa calls the Flood primordial.

"The Primordial" is what humans call the Prisoner. Primordial is what Major John Smith (the ONI agent from The Mona Lisa) uses to describe the Flood.
