Subject: Setting standards

I don't always ban people but when I do I laugh uncontrollably...that's if I was a Forum Ninja.

Truth is a matter of perception.

The Button

Most people do but when you see people like Achilles, Duardo or even Qbix you lose all faith for humanity.

It is possible to commit no errors and still lose. That is not a weakness. That is life.

Cheeto is the only one among you that doesn't suck.

I've learned that holding people to standards on this website only leads to disappointment.

Case and point: don't worry about it. Girls start getting boobies pretty soon, and then you'll have plenty of other things to think about. Being an Inheritor is not a life goal.

'Home is behind, The world ahead, And there are many paths to tread, Through shadow, to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight, Mist and shadow, Cloud and shade, All shall fade, All shall...Fade'

I sometimes do that with people, until I see how they post often or what not. If I see them post more coherently then I kinda expect that, but if I see them post more incoherently then well I will expect that.

But I guess it all depends...

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

I don't hold anyone to their account age, title, etc (except maybe ninjas usually becuase they enforce forum policy).

But, I mean I have seen some of the worst people on here be Mythic's and some of the nicest people be regular members.

Everyone is different and in no way is a title accurate is in justifying or describing individual forum behavior.

Aside from the trust rating that goes with higher titles.

The trust rating is not accurate.

I have encountered some Mythic members (highest titles) that act like -blams- to people.

I also have met some members (lowest trust level) who are some of the nicest people on this site.

the trust level is not accurate.

Aside from it shows how well behaved people are on the forum. Someone who is banned every Tuesday isn't likely to have a high title or hold it for long.

Exactly.

-blam!- Was that actually blammed out? Or did I just type it? You'll never know.

I have given up setting standards for people's behavior. I see no point in it. If somebody feels like acting like an ass then go for it.

I expected better from you.

  • 07.29.2011 5:11 AM PDT

Things like account age and the color of your bar don't matter. I have to have seen you posting like an intelligent human being to have the sort of respect for you to hold you to your own standards.

Hello! I'm Bunie.net's resident medical student (hell i'm sure there are more but I'm the only one who openly declares it!) I love my emblem, and I am periodically active.
I have a Twitter

Its just a hat, but i guess higher member titles have listened to the rules, so i guess they are looked up to, but all members can still do stupid things.

  • 07.29.2011 5:29 AM PDT

Feel free to send me messages, please be willing to wait 6-8 years for a reply.

1-7 hours if you at least tried to make it readable.

Immediately if you are Yax, Telec, or legendary.

Never if you are mythic, you guys smell funny.

I refuse to allow anyone standards to stop me being silly.

Besides, i r not very smrt

Or funny....

I try not to link member titles to how people should act. It really doesn't help when you think that Mythics are gods. (they're are demigods at best)

Do you hold certain members to a set standard of behavior based on possibly account age, member title, or anything else that I'm too lazy to type?

Nope. I don't hold people on the internet to any standard of behaviour.

Neither is judging a person merely by their posts on a website. Someone can connote something completely different than another person just by reading it through their own metaphorical lenses. A person can be an -blam!- on the internet and be the nicest guy you've ever known in real life. This is mostly a problem with anonymity or slight anonymity. You're more likely to act different than you normally act when you realize there are no real life consequences for acting out.

And anyways, -blam!-s can be recognized as long as they don't break the rules and keep their petty squabbles off the main forums. Sometimes being a bit of a pessimist can add to the discussion as long as they aren't completely shutting down the other person by saying "ur dum".
