Sometimes when I go to my friends list page, some of the games people are playing shows up in what appears to be Chinese text. I know for a fact my frieind is playing Call of Duty 2, but instead its (symbols) 2.

Any ideas on what this is or how to fix it?

It does the same for me, so there's really no way you can fix it. It's more of a probelm with Bungie.net.

actually, i think they're just playing with japanese gamers when you see that. I looked up those symbols and it spells 'call of duty 2', just so you know. I looked up the call of duty 2 website in japan, and those symbols were the headline.

On Xbox.com when I view the list, it views in full English. It also views in full English on my MSN list.

However, it views in Japanese characters on Bungie.net and nowhere else.

I don't think that playing with Japanese gamers would make a single difference. When I play Halo 2 with Japanese gamers, the language of the title doesn't change in any of the lists. So I really don't think that's it.

That is, unless, they are actually playing a Japanese version of the game... and all the dudes I know who own 360's got English versions as that's the only language they speak and understand.

I just think it's an error on Bungie.net.

its possible that something on the bnet systems doesn't register the change while xbox.com does. I think i'm right, just because it says call of duty 2. I mean, i don't know that it makes a big difference.
