What does he say around learn all something I can't seem to make out...is it major plays in my makers absence or? x-x But they look really nice. curious to why it showed only 6 monitors in that once scene.

Does the scene take place during Halo 4 or in the past? If it's the former, 343's doing a good job keeping me interested. That scene was the only thing I payed attention to.

Past most likely, seeing as he talks of his makers absence...Sparks can't really be telling us anything if we destroyed him in 3.

Has to be before CE...way before! There's no way Spark could meet up with the other 6 monitors, and Penitent Tangent has been captured by the Gravemind.

do you think they are videos or words

"Halo my makers most horrific and devastating weapon" Uh won't this break cannon. Unless the terminals don't start until after the library... I mean if this shows up on any of the earlier levels it would ruin the story. Also I don't think only having the terminals after the library level would make much sense either. I mean why would he tell you all that stuff when he is trying to kill you? Also there would only be like 3 levels to find terminals in then. Even if they only show up after the library I still think it would break cannon... Not sure I am too happy with this. I bet the terminals are mostly there to advertise for halo 4 too...

The terminals are more for the player than canon and who cares if it advertises Halo 4? It's bound to happen, just by telling the backstory.

Confirmed to be motion comics.

I see what you mean. Because Flood were in the rings, and that red monitor must have been mistaking for going somewhere. So he has been captured for way long. Which is why the grave mind knows so much.

Which is why the grave mind knows so much. He was captured a century (maybe more, I don't remember exactly) before Halo 2. This had to have been near the creation of the Halo's or soon after their activation.

The rings are WAY older than you think. A century is only 100 years, so it would have been like 2400. But the rings are from WAY back before.
The rings were created maybe a few years before year one after the extermination of the forerunners. Watch Halo Legends and you'll know. (I know, I'm a nerd)

I've seen and read every piece of Halo media that's been made, with the exception of a few comics. I know how ancient the rings are. Tangent however wasn't captured until about a century before Halo 2. Sorry for the confusion. The 'this' I was referring to was the motion comic itself.

Edit: Going back over the logs from Halopedian, looks like I confused Tangent's #ID (2401) with the year. Not sure how long Gravemind's had him but it still places the motion comic well before he was captured.

Gravemind has had him for a long time. Gravemind has been there since before the rings were fired and with the flood having the gravemind on the ring, Penitent Tangent was captured in no time at all. I would assume.

Gravemind has had him for a long time. Gravemind has been there since before the rings were fired and with the flood having the gravemind on the ring, Penitent Tangent was captured in no time at all. I would assume. Not possible. The rings would've obliterated the then present gravemind, forcing it to restart. Without Tangent's leadership, the sentinels wouldn't have been able to contain the flood forever and Gravemind beat the forruners themselves...I refuse to believe that he would lose to simple drones. The only reason (in my opinion) Delta Halo wasn't completely overrun by The Flood was because they lacked the bio-mass/food (Covenant) to expand. Gravemind might've had him for a long time by our standards but in the grand scheme of the actual Halo itself (100,000 years), it couldn't have been THAT long.

I have a question. Say you're standing in front of a terminal in CEA. If you switch back to old graphics, do you think the terminal will dissapear, or will it still be there, just with 2001 graphics?

  • 07.28.2011 11:57 PM PDT

l;abhrfiodj!!

I would think that it would "disappear" but there are several places in the original game that looked enough like terminals. If they are placed in those spots it wouldn't disappear but it wouldn't stand out either. If you get what I mean. Oh oh like on the bridge of the covi cruiser. I could totally imagine a terminal right at the front of the raised platform. So yeah I think they will put them in areas that kinda looked like terminals in the original game. So if you approach them in old graphics you would get the option to play them but again they would probably be a little harder to find.

I was thinking about it and it kinda got to me.

OMG!!!! eeuuurgghhhhhh..... *loses virginity to Halo*

Yea theres like louds of places in the library where theres an extra path leading away from where you are meant to go, in the original they just went to dead ends and flood traps but now they can put some of the terminals there.

They probably just put it in with the old graphics also...it takes what? 5 minutes to edit something in CE for the computer?

well noticing all the different color sparks 343 should make a secret room were all of the sparks(terminals)are having a conversation about what to do if john were to try and destroy the halo...the room would be similar to the room on halo 3 were theres the dancing guy in boxers kind of a cyber room 0

Yea but the thing with that is that when we saw the sparks together they actually are the AIs for the different Halos. So the all wouldn't be on Instillation 04 with Spark. One of them is probably 2401 Pendant Tangent or what ever is the name of the AI from Halo 2. What we probably will see is the convos between that commitee of AIs before they were moved to their respective Halos.
