Subject: The Unofficial "ONE OF SEVEN" Thread

Spread the love...

One of Seven Link.

I was reading some comments regarding this and then I read this comment. It looked really accurate, so lots of credit to that person. Here's pretty much the overall points;

Bungie's asking for a lot of information, this sounds serious. The tickets are probably only found in Swag Bags/other 20th anniversary swag. Someone apparently already got a ticket. This looks like a Charlie and the Chocolate Factory like thing. A plane ride to Bungie Studios, where you can look at their new game. Just imagine that! It would be pretty insane.

Discuss!

Is this thread really necessary? We know next to nothing about this contest.

I'm eager to see what other people think this is about. If you don't want to take part in this then just dont come in the Thread.

7 tickets. 7 people will go see bungie studios and their new game.

You get tickets if you ordered a swag bag.(Though I am hoping they put in some other swag).

Pretty simple really.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

I wonder how many tickets they gave out.

Maybe like 2-3 in the Bungie day swag and maybe 3-4 more to be given out on here.

You know, spread out becuase it is a LONG TIME before Bungie day 2012.

Sounds right. :)

They'll probably ban people taking cameras in there.

I believe the winners will have the chance to see Bungie's new game, and possibly have a small voice role.

I'm a worried someone will want to sell one of these tickets.

I'm a worried someone will want to sell one of these tickets.

And if they do? If a person receives the ticket but doesn't want to participate, and someone else is willing to pay for a "chance" to participate, what's the harm?

I'm interested to see how this is going to play out, especially considering there's no purchase necessary.

Edit: Also, why make another thread that's unofficial? The other one, that doesn't have unofficial in the title, seemed just as worthy to be the 1 o' 7 hangout thread....

I just hope it gets invalidated if it is sold.

How would that affect you in anyway?

There is probably some legal requirement to prevent the sale of the tickets anyway.

Again, why? If anything, it's just giving you a chance to get a ticket.

I just mean it would be -blam- if people sold their ticket.

To be honest, I've seen suggestions like this for a couple years now (not that I can find them in the searchbar, and not for lack of trying), but I wouldn't be surprised if your thread reignited their interest in it (or just happened to be a handy coincidence). Plus I wouldn't put it past the minds at Bungie to come up with this themselves.

However, it seems like there was enough time between then and that article's publishing date for them to go through the motions of "is this a good idea, how much would it cost, how do we disperse them, and should we talk to our lawyers about this?" questions and processes, etc.

I don't think I influenced it that much or at all but I think it is funny I said "Bungie should do this" and Bungie did do the same thing I said in a thread months ago.

It is so bizarre.

If somebody got one of the seven tickets and tried to sell it, the ticket would be rendered void due to the terms and conditions of the contest.

Yes, I read the entire thing.

  • 07.29.2011 10:42 AM PDT

The other thread was posted first and has more replies. Why make a new one?

Yes, I read the entire thing.

Where does it say that? I read the whole thing too and didn't read a thing about that...

I read about a ticket going towards someone else after it had been used with the original Account Holders information, but nothing about selling/purchasing said tickets.

Not like I would though, being a Bungie Fan, I'd take the ticket and rule the world! Okay, maybe just my back yard, but you get what I mean.

Edit: I stand corrected by burrito just a few posts below this one.

So what you're suggesting is that we create an official discussion thread for a prize that effects seven people a year from now? What's there to talk about?

  • 07.29.2011 11:02 AM PDT

I took this section to mean that. Mind you I don't handle contracts so perhaps I misunderstood. I just interpreted it to include selling.
Your ticket and the verification code contained therein are personal, one-of-a-kind, and not transferable. Do not reveal the hidden code beneath the scratch off before Bungie Day 2012. Do not share your ticket or code with anyone else. Failure to follow these instructions will render your ticket, and the promise that it holds, null and void.
