Yeah. That's right. I don't have a 50 in H3. I never got Onyx in Reach. If a game sucks too much, I won't even bother trying for such trivial "accolades". Besides, I've done way more things that take far more skill and talent than anything that can be done in a video game.

My condolences.

Yes, I am a hypocrite, and I'm sorry. I really do mean well, but I'm not running on all cylinders.

Everytime someone buys a copy of Halo 2 Vista, a puppy dies.

I've had too many problems with it to try very hard anymore..

Feels bad to snub your enthusiasm, but this isn't the Halo 2 you know. This version came from pure, evil greed.

So yeah, thanks for the invite but no thank you. Hope it works out.

That's the number of bans in this thread. Next time you want to derail something, go stand in front of a train.

Not everyone gets problems with the game, it's always ran fine for me.

Good luck and hope it plays well, sometimes the multiplayer can be empty at times...not surprising though.

Something smells fishy...

If somehow there was a way to find out the ratio of people who experience problems with H2V to people who do not I wonder what that ratio would be.

I've never really had problems with it on any of the three computers I've installed it to. Only problems I ever had were on my old Gateway which was due to hardware not being sufficient enough when it should have been for such an old game. Runs amazing on my new custom build, though.

I do believe the pistol is worse on this subject...

getting killed by lag
Halo PC's netcode. Having to lead your shot by feet.
spawn killed

camped

Correct me if I'm wrong, but, all this stuff happens on Halo PC as well (Actually, don't. I've been playing PC since 2003, I know it does). I mean, if you have a sniper on Blood Gulch, you can spawn kill with the comfort of being at your own base.

super jump no-scoped
No Super Jumps on Halo 2 Vista. (With the exception of rocket jumping off barricades, but that's unrealistic in a match situation.)

game breaking lag
Like I said before, aiming feet ahead of the target. One of the most complained about and desirable fixes to Halo PC was the netcode fix. It takes more skill to master than a regular netcode, but you'd have to be overly nostalgic towards the game not to think it needs to be fixed.

What I'm trying to say is if you're going to bash a game, at least know your facts first.

Unlike the BR the pistol has a maximum range and needs to be aimed. The BR on the other hand can land perfect headshots from across the map and literaly curves the bullets for you. (lots of aim assist + massive amounts of bullet magnetism = BR)

On the subject of lag, I was refering to player bouncing around the map. I know in Halo 1 that you have to aim ahead because of the netcode. It is rare in Halo 1 that the actual character model of the person you are shooting at actualy "teleports" to a different area of the map because of lag. This often happens in Halo 2.

Compared to Halo 2, the Halo 1 sniper rifle was alot more difficult to use. So, for spawnkilling, Halo 2 makes it alot easier. The BR can kill someone almost instantly if in the hands of a "pro Halo 2 player". The sniper rifle in Halo 2 has almost as much aimassist as the BR AND still has bullet magnetism. You could literaly spin around, shoot in the general direction of someone, and get a headshot.

Halo 2 had many noob friendly camping spots. You could camp in Halo 1, but you would soon find your camera floating over your dead body with the respawn timer in the corner wondering "wtf just happend????". Sitting in a small hallway or on a building in Halo 2 with a BR or any powerweapon gave noobs free kills.

Halo 2 does have many places that allow people to super bounce. This allows player to get to places that give them an instant advantage. No such thing is present in Halo 1, or atleast not practical enough to do in a fight.

I do know my facts. If you are going to prove me wrong then do so with something that makes sense.

Why does everyone hate Halo 2? Maybe its because its the worst game ever next to mario.

I find it kind of sad that I can still run Halo 2 Vista on a dell inspiron laptop I got in 2007 just fine and people can't even run the game on a super desktop.

Agree with the aim assist for the BR, this was one of the many things that bugged me about the weapon.

Never seen the player bouncing before, never experienced it. I do however dislike the leading a shot in Halo PC, but then thats because im not very good at it, if only they could have had a better netcode.

Sniper rifle? I agree to some extent, the sniper was easier to use in Halo 2, which kinda took away from the skill, but the Halo PC one wasn't exactly difficult either, except the leading shots, one guy could dominate and spawn trap on Blood Gulch if positioned right. Never heard of this 360 stuff with the sniper, this isn't Halo Reach, now that's a sniper anyone could use.

Agreed with the camping, i've seen alot of it on Halo 2 xbox but however, since i joined Halo 2 Vista late, i haven't seen much of it, but then i don't really play the game to see it anyway.

Super bouncing is non existent in H2V, except for rocket launching but you need overshields for that anyway. In H2X it is there and i agree, was ridiculous on some maps back in the day.

Both games need fixin'. But I think H2V requires fixing more so than Halo CE PC (ofcourse neither games will ever receive fixes/patches/updates again).

In my opinion H2V requires more fixing than Halo CE PC because, simply, it cannot run on all Windows based PC's. The fact that many people (who meet the system requirements or surpass them) cannot get H2V to run or that people cannot run it properly should be a warrant to fix the game somehow.

It can't be a hardware issue and it can't be a Vista or 7 issue. It's gotta be the game. If you meet the specs or surpass the system requirements for H2V then you should be able to run it fine.

I could get much longer ranged shots in with the Pistol. There's a reason why its infamous. The BR does have a restricted range and I can assure that its shorter than the one of the Pistol. Its much easier for me to get a kill with a Pistol from Rocket spawn to cliff edge on Blood Gulch than with a BR. Then again, it takes skill to get the kill with the pistol due to the difficulty of aiming it at those distances.

On the subject of lag, I was refering to player bouncing around the map. I know in Halo 1 that you have to aim ahead because of the netcode. It is rare in Halo 1 that the actual character model of the person you are shooting at actualy "teleports" to a different area of the map because of lag. This often happens in Halo 2.Two different types of lag. If all the players on Halo 2 had a good connection you won't get this, but on Halo PC its a constant. If you do have people with bad lag on Halo PC it happens as well. I've seen it many times.

You could literaly spin around, shoot in the general direction of someone, and get a headshot.Did I ever say it was harder on H2? No. Did I ever say it was easier on H1? No. I just said it was possible in H1 as well. In fact, I did it yesterday at a LAN Party and on HPC three days ago.

Again, like I said before, only said it was possible on H1 as well. In fact, best example is the teleporter on top of Death Island. Just sit there with a shotgun/rocket launcher and wait.

Halo 2 does have many places that allow people to super bounce. This allows player to get to places that give them an instant advantage. No such thing is present in Halo 1, or atleast not practical enough to do in a fight. You're not listening. Halo 2 Vista has no super bounces. When porting to the PC they fixed the bug in the Havok engine that allowed for it.

I do know my facts. If you are going to prove me wrong then do so with something that makes sense.I don't really think you do if you think the Pistol can't hit people from as far away as the BR on H2. Maybe you were just never good enough at HPC to see how effective it is at long range. (That's not comparing us in skill. Simply stating that any adept HPC player would know it has cross-map range.) You also keep talking about super bounces when they don't exist in any practical way for actual in game combat (Ex. The old crouch in the corner and jump onto something method)

Any true PC gamer should know comparing Halos in terms of skill is beyond silly. If you play Halo for skillful gameplay you don't know what a truly skilled game is. If you want truly skilled you have to look to an era before games were custom crafted for the handicapped piece of junk people know as a "controller". Games like Quake, Unreal Tournament, and Tribes.

Examples: 1 & 2.

@Barnacle_Blast: 100% Agreed.
