Does it disintegrate flesh or simply kill? I never heard it straitly said.

Vengeance only leads to an ongoing cycle of hatred.

The immense power probably just vaporizes everything. I doubt a body would remain after being killed by a Halo.

I have so much to learn about the Halo Universe. But I assume the Rings would just vaporise everything in that Galactic scale.

No, read Cryptum and you will know that once they were fired, countless Forerunner bodies floated lifeless in space.

I just play for fun. MLG can kiss my ass.

It sends a burst of harmonized neutrinos through slipspace that destroy the nervous system of any sentient being in the blast zone of a halo.

I am alpha, i am omega.

I am the last of the primes.

In the cea trailer, you can see the land it self being destroyed as if a 50.0 earthquake hit it.

Some can come away from reading "War and Peace" thinking it a simple adventure story, while others can read the ingredients on a gum wrapper and unlock the secrets of the universe.

It kills any complex life with enough biomass to sustain the flood. That would include most if not all animals, and they're not sentient. Cryptum tells us alot of complex plant life is also wiped out by the Halo fire.

"I don't care if it's God's own anti-Son of a -blam!- Machine or a giant hula-hoop!"

I think of it more like a microwave. You are destroyed from the inside-out.

  • 07.30.2011 2:40 PM PDT

And there's wether or not it kills the flood or not.

Halo, it fires Neurtino-type particles that destroys the central nervous system. Imagine it as microwave, burning out your specific system inside of you, rendering lifeless corpse floating/lying. However, it can be tweaked to destroy entire planet, and possibly to destroy mechanical drones or whatever.

And Halo CEA trailer, that's not Halo firing. That's from PoA explosion. Technically, Halo rings wouldn't cause like that.

A 'superinsideburning' microwave?

Whippin' 'nades since aught-2

The Forerunners catalogued every species in the galaxy. The Halo effect was tailored to destroy only certain species - after a sample of them had been taken to the ark.

This is why you see a genetic bottleneck in humans about 100000 years ago.

That was probably just the energy being released on the Ring. Not everything was destroyed like that.

By the power of truth, I, while living, have conquered the universe.

No, they indexed races so they could reseed them once the Halos fired. Halo killed everything with sufficient biomass to host the Flood super cell.

What a waste....

There was a thread about the Halo's destructive power.

It kills neurons, and thusly kills non-pure flood forms.

See you on the battlefield.

It's more or less a high energy radiation pulse, similar to a gamma ray burst.

I think that it induces a resonance cascade in a living host's nervous system, destroying it.
