Here's some evidence to prove the OP wrong.

Personally, i've only cared to PM a few mods. I think i've shot a few to Foman, Duardo, The Slayer... and Qbix. Most of my PMs to Qbix are love letters though
:(
Oh shush, play some halo with me.

That's like saying you shouldn't come to Bungie.net if you don't like every game they've ever made. They aren't payed to do this. They aren't forced to do anything. Get over it.
Can I also just point out what an utterly stupid argument this is? If you're doing a bad job (Not saying they are) being a volunteer really doesn't make much difference. Don't put your name down if you cant do a good job, and if you no longer can do a good job then let someone else sign up. If the RFS comes to my house and just ignores the bushfire burning it down I don't shrug and say 'well they're volunteers so thats ok' I'll point out that they're supposed to be stopping fires not ignoring them.
I dunno, bro. Everyone is making all of these assumptions based on what they see and hear. Only a few people know what it is to be a moderator of Bungie.net, so how can anyone else say that they're doing a terrible job or that they shouldn't be mods blah blah blah?

That isn't even close to his argument...

either
1) Mods are expected to go to every forum
2) We get forum specific mods

Mods do go to every forum.... when things are reported. I still don't exactly see what the fuss is about, seeing as though the forums with the most traffic do have more moderation.

My argument is that everyone is complaining about insignificant stuff. I understand his analogy, but the difference is that people could die in that situation. This is an internet forum, not a damn fire. Not to mention, nobody is entitled to everything they ask for. Especially when [dun dun dun] we don't pay a dime to use this website. We get what we get. We can demand all we want, speculate on how well things are handled, rant about a bunch of bull but at the end of the day it's the webteams decision on what to do. When they believe we need more mods, we'll get them. As for now, we can report, PM, and move the -blam!- on.

Take a chill pill!

Again, this will never result in anything productive unless;

1. The staff acknowledges that there is a problem with the current system.

2. The staff stops treating the moderator position as a reward rather than an, under the circumstances, needed and helpful asset.

I can imagine that if I signed up as a volunteer in a soup kitchen and then more or less never showed up they would have, if not replaced me, atleast found an additional person who could perform the task when I decided to spend my time elswhere. It doesnt matter if it is a volunteer gig, the position was created because there was a need, right?

As for #2, the whole "trust" speech someone always has to drop on the topic of new/additional moderators is complete BS. Any "older" and still active member on this site is obviously dedicated enough to come back. It's like we're operating under the assumption that people visit this site for years and years just to one day become a moderator and screw everyone over by going rampage. So no, trust isnt a main factor when they're picking new mods. The problem is that they want it to be a reward and you know what they say about presents, you shan't ask for anything in return....and that's why we have 25 mods who feel like they've reached the top of the mountain, have lost interest and arent frequenting the site anymore.

The problem with the forums is not the moderators though. It's the people. Basically, a small minority of people are simple. To get around this Bungie should implement an IQ test to be taken at the registration of any new account, as well as whenever someone comes off a ban. If people are unable to do well enough, lets say an IQ of 100, then they will be unable to create the account, or get off the ban.

This plan will get rid of all of the slower members of the community. It does not guarantee that trolls and other forum evil-doers will not get on, but the conversations will be of a much higher intelligence.

So if someone enjoys playing Halo Reach but they aren't the brightest bulb on the tree, they aren't allowed to come and discuss their favorite game? How elitist can you get?

Well, I thought were we're posting, and suggesting, serious and outrageous plans to fix the problem. So I did. Also, it could be changed to as low as 85 to account for standard deviation allowed on such tests. This would allow for a large majority of people to pass easily.

An IQ test too create an account? What is this.....

There's got be a better way then throwing new members test that aren't even necessary. I'm still sticking with after the new user creates there account, they must wait a 24 hour time period before they can post in any thread.

An if anybody says we should leave all of this alone and everything is right. You completely do not understand that this is an issue we can fix easily an the system right now of banning an all isn't working one bit.

Also not clicking on the link isn't hard, it's trying to ignore it whenever its a big wall of spam in your face.

I'm locking this now since it has had its time. The thread itself was falling onto the third page until it was bumped with off-topic discussion.
