Subject: For Each Halo Game...

Which would be your preferance for each category (games by bungie):

Campaign (story, environments, characters, enemies, etc.)
Multiplayer
Weapons
Mechanics (movement, pickups, damage, etc.)

and why

Me:

Campaign: Halo: CE, very original story, surprisingly deep and innovative, made sense, I liked how you were always on Halo, sense of being stranded and entrapment, scenery and seeing Halo while you were on it was breathtaking for a video game
Multiplayer:Halo 2, best maps, most orginal, balanced, and diverse, fun as hell
Weapons: Halo: CE, had the least variety of weapons, but the mechanics of them were the best imo, lots of ammo, lots of damage, M6D pistol how I miss you
Mechanics: Halo: CE, no AA's, liked the movement speed, jump height was perfect, and I liked the pickups the way they were, kickass weapons, and melee damage was just right

This man, this man right here put it so eloquently that I actually cancelled my own 2000+ word long post.

The person who said participating is important, not winning, obviously never won anything.

Campaign: Halo: CE, 2, 3, ODST, Reach. They tell a saga, and a da*n fine saga too.

(notice that I purposefully left out Halo Wars... that game was just a big mistake. There were better ways to make a game about the Fall of Harvest... so much missed opportunity there.)

Multiplayer: Halo: Reach. I think that the over all multiplayer mechanics for each Halo game have vastly improved over time, with Reach being the pinnacle of that. (*puts flame proof suit on*) However, for best maps I do have to give that to Halo 2.

Mechanics: Halo: Reach. I think that the AA's are a better version over Halo 3's Equipment. Plus I really do enjoy the speed of movement, jump is fine, and the melee damage isn't over powered. Elites have energy shields as well, it shouldn't take one melee hit to kill them, etc.

Weapons: Halo 2 & Halo: Reach tie in my book. The variety of weapons, and the damage scale is nigh perfect in both games. For my favorite weapon, the DMR. Just because there is a visual reference for the bloom, that has been in every game, doesn't make it work differently. I do like how they fixed the fuse timers for grenades (both Plasma and Frag) in games after Halo 2. It took forever for them to go off in Halo: CE and Halo 2... more than enough time for enemies to dodge. That was a great fix in my book.

(*makes sure flame-proof suit will ward off nuclear flames*...)

I'll go ahead and say that there were no worse way of making a game about Harvest seeing as not even half the game took place on that planet.

At least they figured out what not to do in future spin-off Halo games. Halo Wars was just horrible.

UWG Great group, you should check it out.

Campaign: I can't pick. Each one depends on the other except for Reach. Reach isn't needed for the rest to make sense.
Multiplayer: Halo 3-It was my first Halo, so I have the fondest memories of it.
Mechanics: Halo 3 ODST-I loved VISR mode, and everything else was good.
Weapons: Halo 3-I loved the BR to death, and I thought the Brute Shot and Shotgun were great.

Campaign: Halo CE without a doubt, it emersed you into a story, something different then what was before and is generaly the most intresting and fun campaign I've played in all of the Halo's.

Multiplayer: Halo3 for me, I never got into Halo2's multiplayer too much, other then split screne with friends and ocasional later on, but 3 held the most fun multiplayer for me.

Mechanics: I'd say ODST here, generaly, things worked here, it was more of a chalange, rather then simply being 'Roar, I'ma walking tank' you where forced to take cover more often, firefight was great, actualy holding a chalange, unlike Reach's.

Weapons: ODST, although this was a cut down version of Halo 3's, with a few new additions, they general felt like a good balance, one that worked whilse offering a chalange while fighting with, unlike the anti all BR.
