''I am the Shadow of the Samurai. End of your life.'' (Cue mindless hacking with katana)

Are we allowed to talk about... the US constitution... or the Magna Carta... etc...?

Why do people in ship mutinies always ask for "better treatment"? I'd ask for a pinball machine, because with all that rocking back and forth, you'd get a lot of free games.

Maybe in order to understand mankind, we have to look at the word itself: "Mankind". Basically, it's made up of two separate words - "mank" and "ind". What do these words mean? It's a mystery, and that's why so is mankind.

I would steer away from those.

Depends how much you value your account. Politics is actually a pretty routine topic in the flood and it always has been. Generally speaking political theory is safe as houses, while current political affairs requires something of a defter touch to avoid ye olde banhammer. Either one risks a ban from someone who got out of bed on the wrong side that morning, no matter how polite and constructive the topic. C'est la vie.

I don't see where those would pop up, except in political threads.

For the sake of safety, it's wise to keep a general "don't bring up anything that could even possibly fuel a political flamewar" rule.

You have no idea how revolting I can be.

I tend to follow the general rule of thumb in these kind of situations: If you have to question whether or not it is allowed, don't do it as it probably is.

δόξει τις ἀμαθεῖ σοφὰ λέγων οὐκ εὖ φρονεῖν.

Euripides, Bacchae. 480.

The rules are made up as we go along here, so I'd say whatever you like.
