This is why:

Doing something like hiding the url tag for new users, or making it so you can't post a post with just a [url= link, would make the tag spammers use smarter methods.

These smarter methods are what we want to avoid, as they could catch out more experienced users.

Does this make sense? Right now, it's easy to recognise tag spammers as they'll be the ones typing 'John Cena' over and over or something similar.

But if they get smarter, this will result in not only the internet noobs getting caught out, but us veterans too.

Get what I'm saying? I think the 'report and move on' system is best all round.
