i doubt this belongs in this community, but i love u guys and i hope u can help me.

Im about 15 years old, and i am looking to get into the gaming business. I want to do 3d animation, but im not sure what i need, or how to approach getting into the business. I would first have to go to a school, but what kind? also after school what should i do?

for a job i would love to work here, i mean being in the community( i don't post much, but i read it ) you get a really good vibe, and i wanna be a part of it.

I bet im gonna get yelled at because this doesn't belong in a bungie forum, or whatever, but i can't exactly email one of the bungie animators and ask them what i should do, plus im sure they are busy.

Its just that if i want to enter this field i want to hone my skills, if i have any :\ asap.

If anyone helps, thank you.

I'd say asking about getting a job at Bungie fits in with Bungie community discusson just fine. =)

The most important thing you need to have for Bungie to consider you as an applicant is a demo reel of your best animations. Bungie is a big studio, making big games, so you have to prove to them that you're top notch. College is the best time to build a portfolio. So, my suggestion is that you find an accredited institution that offers a strong degree in animation. Notice how I didn't specify "3d animation?" This is because a development of classical drawing and animation skills is essential to any would-be animator.

The other part of skill development rests squarely on your shoulders. Animate every day. Set aside some time every day to take a model and animate it. Try to have a goal each week for what kind of animation you want to do, so that you're not playing with the same animation for too long. Basically, you want to keep reusing your skills in order to develop them.

Hope that helps. Keep in mind, Bungie isn't hiring animators right now, so even if you were a calibre of animator they would be interested in, it's not likely that you'd get a job. From your post I'm going to guess that you haven't finished or even perhaps started college yet, and that's fine. When you're through college, we'll see if you are ready and if Bungie is ready for you. =)
