This makes me wonder... Can you get banned for Private message content? (content that you sent, not that you have)

If Achronos or another Superuser deems it's worthy of a ban, then yes. It would most likely need to have some earlier underlying cause, like hefty offenses that would warrant searching the user's PM box. I would be able to see bans going out because of trying to organize a spam attack through PMs, or other similar things.

If this is the case, why isn't their a "report user" button on PMs? I've been messaged some links to "inappropriate sites" and other activities that violate the rules.

Intolerance is the highest level of stupidity and inbred thinking.

Because people would end up reporting every group invite they get. More logically though, moderators can't view our PMs last I checked (god I hope someone didn't prove otherwise in this thread and make me look like an ass), so the only people who would be able to look at reported messages are the web team.

And since only one user receives the message, it cant be like in the forums, where x amount people need to report a post before it closes. Meaning, every PM that gets reported would be sent to the web team.

So imagine how many people would report PMs, and then imagine a small handful of people having to sift through EVERYTHING. Not practical in any way.

So usually you can get away with things in PMs, because there's no moderation. If something really bad gets sent though, you can send it to a moderator, who can then forward it to the web team, and things can go from there. Or, you just go straight to the web team yourself. Just don't expect swift justice.

I believe only superusers can. Maybe the web team.

Additionally, if you really felt it necessary to report a PM, you could message a Bungie employee giving the details of the offending PM, and block the user. Naturally, blocking would be the easiest action to perform if you don't want to get Pm'd by someone.
