"I don't care if it's God's own anti-Son of a -blam!- Machine or a giant hula-hoop!"

Well, seeing how there isn't really a great place to discuss ONI, Marathon, Pathways Into Darkness, etc, why not start a forum directly for these old Bungie classic games? The first name that I thought of for this forum is,
"Grizzled Ancients" 'Come here to discuss the original games that put Bungie on the map!'

I know the site is currently being revamped for Bungie's future, and that they are transferring some of the game forums, so I figured it might get a little quiet in here. (Quiet isn't always bad however.) And they may very well be designing a forum to fit this purpose. If not, I think this is something that should be considered by the web-team.

*Yes, the Bungie Universe forum sort of covers these games, but an actual dedicated forum would be welcomed by many.
*If I missed a quote by Achronos pertaining to this, let me know.
*It's also possible that these forums were retired some time ago (and I just didn't know), but why not now put together something that combines them all.
*This forum probably won't get a ridiculous amount of traffic, but I imagine new threads and discussions would still take place. (Especially with 'Halo' oriented threads at a minimum.)

Actually the Universe forum fully covers those topics, though right now the latest craze in the forum has been Halo 4, so any threads on any other Bungie games would likely not get as much attention.

I'm pretty sure the Universe forum covers those topics, but the majority of the threads there are about Halo, for obvious reasons. Alternatively, you could make a group dedicated to only the early Bungie games.

I'm pretty sure those groups already exist, and they are pretty large. I forgot what they are called though...

Which is precisely why, in my opinion, these older games need a dedicated forum.
This also will cut the clutter down, and give each forum a more definitive identity.

As to the private groups, if there is enough interest in the older games then it simply adds to the reasoning to create this new forum. There will be that much more activity and discussion.

Not exactly.

By making a new forum you're essentially isolating Halo 4 discussion and, in doing that, creating a "Halo 4 forum", which isn't needed here anymore. Hell, Halo 4 not being Bungie's next game, I'd say Halo 4 discussion should probably be looked down on or not even talked about in the Universe forum. But then people would just throw soda cans at me for saying that...

I agree with the OP.

I don't see where Halo 4 belongs in the Bungie Universe forums at all.

Anywho, with the Bungie Universe forum used for things discussing canon, story-line, Bungie lore, and their potential projects (which is what it does now) and a new forum used for their 'Old School' games, I think it would transition to a much neater forum set up.

Obviously the 'Marathon Pinned Topic' would have to be moved, or copied over. I really don't see any major negative effects with this idea. I'm not saying there won't be, I just don't foresee anything.
