If you're putting A1 on a steak, you're doing it wrong.Quoting the literal -blam!- out of this. Steak sauce, contrary to its name, is the last thing you should be putting on a steak. Except perhaps ketchup.
Steaks 101:
Take your steak out, rub it down vigorously with loads of salt, freshly ground black pepper and olive oil. Leave it to stand. Don't worry about excess, this comes off when cooking.
Heat up a pan to as hot as you can physically get it without it catching fire
Cook your steak for approximately two minutes (or to taste) on each side, turning once.
This is the important bit: Leave your steak to stand for five minutes before you eat it. This is the difference between an average steak and a -blam!- good steak.
If you must insist on sauce, then a creamy pepper sauce is the only way to go. Sauces are meant to compliment the meat, not stick to it and overpower it with the taste of sugar, tomatoes and vinegar. If your intended condiment is coming from a bottle, just stop now and donate the steak to a worthier cause.
-blam!-, now I really want a steak.

where the hell are the culinary masterminds? NO LOVE FOR BLUE CHEESE?Cheese? On a steak? Good lord, you're worse than the ketchup brigade. Leave cheese to the foods that it improves, like chicken.
