Hello,

On several maps, including h2-gepy, h2-danger canyaon, floodfest2 and chonopolis, I get this visual bug that appears as if my player has two more hands stretching from both sides of the view and move in corespondence to the weapon, further more, it seems to bind to other polygons in the surroundings and create shapes which clug my view.
After asking other people about this while playing the maps, no one seems to have the same problem.

Is it just my system?

I hope for some meaningful insight.

Demon.

It's probably your graphics card. It would help if you gave us your system specifications. That, or the model sucks.

yea your videocard is crap. Make sure you have the newest drivers and halo patches. Other than that theres not much to do. The rest of your computer is pretty outdated too.

Here you will need this to help you get your foot out of the back of your throat, looks llike its in there pretty deep. And what is that on your face? Egg?! *hands Kim a washcloth*

From the sounds of it, it sounds like your videocard has bit the dust. Time for a new one. just post a screenshot to confirm it.

The second shows better the "polygon stretching" thing I was talking about.

BTW, thanks all for answering.

Stop ditching his card.. I still got a Ti4600 in my old comp and it runs Halo perfectly on 1024x768.

Back on topic, I have no idea what could be causing that.

It happened with me before as well. It's when the designer adds in a model that isn't created right or put in right... Shouldn't be so much of a graphics issue.

GeForce 4 is fine...

When does this happen? Or does it happen all the time?

This happens all the time on the maps I stated above.

Yeah, like I said, the map designers put in a shoddy model that was probably hacked into the game or just put in really badly.

Happened to me a long time ago when I put a pelican mod onto Timberland.

Yeah, if it's not the card, its the in-game geometry of the thing. While this man not always work, you could try searching for an updated version of the map to play on. Some CE creators get feedback from players and work to make their maps better and better.

I installed the latest GeForce drivers today, and as expected, it didn't help.

I emailed the creator of the h2-gepy map a few weeks ago and never got a reply, moreover, I played with someone on the same map and he had no trouble with it.

Weird stuff.

I had this happen on ApocalypsehugeassV(2 or 3 or 4, I forgot) before, but hardly anyone played it and it was messing with Hugeass, so I just deleted it. Never happened again. I have a NVidia GeForce 3 Ti 200 video card, Intel Pentium 4 1.7 GHz processor, and 512 MB RAM. No clue what caused it, but it's (obviously) map specific. Can't get a screenshot, as, like I said, I deleted the map.

Widowmaker was right on the ball; this is indeed a problem with your video card. "Artifacts", as they are called, are caused when your video card is overheating. Try turning down some settings, playing on a lower resolution, or setting the command line to revert to a lower pixel shader. Also, try cleaning the inside of your case and applying more thermal grease between your GPU and the heatsink. If all else fails, trash that obsolete card and purchase a newer one. It is pretty old school.

I just tried floodfest2 and I didnt get this issue. either your map files are corrupt or your video card is damaged. I had this happen to me when my radeon 9700pro died, it looks just like this. If it doesnt happen in any other map, then look at the map files themselves and or the halo ce instillation, but if it happens in other maps your video card is dead and it's time to get a new one.

and haha i am in WolfAmMoz's sig and this is the second time i posted here. :D
