After reading a sticky post about sniping i thought that it was really good.
But i just think that there is 2 ways of sniping.
what i mean is there is the one covered in the post which is used for far distances and there is another one. The other one i find is harder its sniping on close range. like from one of battle creeks base to the other maby 20 meter. The best thing to do there is to not aim for the head but other parts.
One problem is that the enemy might know where you are and tat makes it much harder for you. If you shoot onece it might stun him then shoot right after. which means hes dead!

I mean don't you think its easier to get head shoots on people far away?

Also usually on short distances they know youre sniping which makes it much harder.
then people who are close?

I think it's easy to snipe from far away because if you snipe from close range, you always end up getting shot with a pistol.

In my opinion (and experience) the sniper rifle is just as good, if not better, at medium distances than long distances. Even on medium and small levels, it is possible to use the sniper rifle on x2 magnification. I am more dangerous at x2 than x10.

At close range, it's like a shotty, only with four shots and a tiny reticle.

If you dont hit 'em the first 2 shots and they have a shotgun, you're screwed

I like a fairly medium distance to snipe, I'm better arround that area, but I can hit a fairly distanced mark belive you me.

short and sweet, the sniper rifle is the best at Far range, because u don't have to worry about being god damn shot by the pistol sending you out of zoom, and not zoomed in the sniper rifle is useless, well for my terms anyways

Bottom Line: Sniping in any game is ment to be a long range type of battle. Sniping close up may take a certain level of skill, but when your team is getting sniped to death, and you are having a long range sniper bout, there is nothing more thrilling.

Yeah I love snipers, but the only thing their good for at short range is whacking someone from behind playing no radar. Lol that pistol bit is funny. I have a friend who is a TOTAL pistol -blam!-. Every game its one-shot kills to the head, every frikkin' time! He doesn't know that its gone in Halo2. I'm gonna laugh my ass off when he finds out...

I agree that shooting at medium ranges is sometimes better than long ranges. It sure makes it easier to see the bigger picture at X2 and you can still get a red reticle. It also depends on the field that your playing and what your roll is in the game. I mean if your providing cover for your allys trying to enter and conquer a tower, or covering your buddy on boarding action who is opposite you. It all depends on how jumpy you are in the game too. If your all pumped up and can't sit for a long period of time then your probably not as good as the guy who snipes all the time with the patients to wait for his/her well placed shot. You know your good when all you hear is,"Were did I just get shot from","I don't know, I didn't see the trail".
