Hi! I really don't come here very often so I don't know if this was mentioned before, but anyway, in the Assault on the Control Room level in the snow, there is a part, pretty early on in the level, that a Pelican full of Fire Team Zulu swoops over a bridge a calls for assistance. If you run out on to the bridge and get under the aircrat as it passes over, it will say press X to enter the side seat of Pelican. Does anyone know if it is possible to get in and ride it down to the bottom of the canyon? I tried many times without success, but mabye someone else will have better luck.

Five Tenets of Bungie.net Forum Life:
1. Trolls will always be well fed.
2. Blame-ability thy name is stosh.
3. Bungie has no control over retail prices.
4. Watch out for low-flying defense drones.
5. Seven is not optional, but rather, an inevitability.

I've tried it before, but I never was successful.

I've got in the Pelican before, but I had to get to the chasm floor first. When it lands you can jump in for a ride to the Scorpion.

This is not a new trick and there are two seperate ways in which to board the Pelican. Both are documented and can be found on halo.bungie.org . The first way is to use the item overload to prevent the marines in the dropship from spawning. Then it is possible to board the Pelican from on top of the bridge. The second method requires you to use the ledges to safely jump from the bridge to the canyon floor and then get into the dropship after it has dropped off the marines and before it takes off.

First thing, i have tried and NEVER gotten in, the "press X to board the Pelican" is there for a VERY short time, and i have never made it, thus assuming the impossible w/o OO.

Second thing, Sardonic13 I think you should bcome at moderator considering the reply sent, just an opinion though

third thing Shout out to HBO for being THE goto site for trick refrences

First off, thanks for the complement Bobash69x2, but I need to learn a lot more about Bungie and spend a lot more time on the fourms before my knowledge is anywhere near that of the mods. Guys like Lt. Devon and The Rip Saw are much more qualified than I.

Secondly, if people are still having problems getting into the Pelican from on the bridge, it is impossible, UNLESS you use the item overload. It is impossible because while it says you can "press x to enter the Pelican", both seats are, under normal circumstances, occupied by two marines. However, if you use the item overload, those marines won't spawn and the seat will be vacant. But at that point in the level, I doubt the item overload is a possible option in single player, so you would have to try it in coop mode.

Note: Whether using the item overload method or successfully jumping down from the bridge to the canyon floor, you will be sitting in front of your xbox for a while. The item overload takes an extensive ammount of time and patience to complete and, as anyone who has tried it knows, jumping from the bridge and surviving in single player is a difficult process, requiring a great deal of accuracy.
