This is my signature nub.

So I realized there were pretty much no videos of Marathon on the iPad, so for all of you guys who want to see what it looks like, I made a video.

I think Marathon is an awesome game, and I can't believe how smooth it runs. If you have an iPad, there is no excuse not to get it, because it's FREE!

Here's the video!

Trying something once will increace your chances of success, because you tried it. Try someting twice, and your chances increase yet again - seeing as you've done it. Try something a few thousand times, and your chances of success is exponentially increased; this increase would likely provide success every time

Great vid OP, thanks for posting; I've actually been looking for one of these. It kind of makes me sad you can look around and shoot at the same time, but that's just me being a modern day gamer =P.

Impossible on an iPhone, at least, not with decent quality. The HUD already takes up about 1/8 of the screen, with the movement "pad" being at about a 1/4.

I find the controls on the iPad pretty difficult. I played all the way through but I still prefer the PC version.

I agree. They seem too twitchy for me. I wish that there was a look sensitivity option in the game. This would make my experience that much more enjoyable.

Probably because an Iphone/Ipod couldn't run it.

You can change the look sensitivity, I believe.

I think that's the general consensus, but at least the game is free. Plus you get an easy way to share it with other people, last time I showed Marathon to a friend on my laptop I wound up with several teenagers sitting around it watching and wanting turns. Guess it's just that good.

It also doesn't afraid of anything.

No but really, it is WELL WORTH A DOWNLOAD!

Looks like the controls work great on the iPad.

Oh Bungie, you're so good at making controls completely revolutionary and suitable for new platforms and devices.

They do work, but Bungie didn't port this to the iPad. It was all done by a guy named Daniel Blezek. He should get a ton of credit for this.

Well, I knew that (major props to him too), but I think the point remains as I don't think Bungie would have wanted it released on Bungie Day and plugged on their site if they didn't feel it was up to that sort of caliber :)

I wouldn't have played all the way through if it was too difficult. I just had a tough time getting used to it after playing on the mouse for so many years, it was like learning how to ride a bike again.

I eventually got used to it, but some of the levels were pretty difficult with the lack of control of a mouse. I would like to see someone beat it on Total Carnage on the iPad (is TC on the iPad?).

Not to mention, I am all for portability of playing Marathon :)

Def going to get Marathon for my iPad after seeing that. Thanks for posting gameplay. The port is impressive.

It's not a completely free package. If I want to use the enhanced textures (which are honestly only marginally better) and/or Master Chief mode, I need to pay for it through an in-app transaction.

- Though with that part aside, it is great. Next to Infinity Blade and Superbrothers: Sword $ Sworcery, it is the only game I can tolerate on iOS.

What is Master Chief mode?

What is Master Chief mode?
It gives you invincibility, full health, all weapons, full ammo, and save anywhere, whenever you want it. If you buy it as an in app purchase, just pause to access it.

Probably because an Iphone/Ipod couldn't run it.

Yet it can handle games like Infinity Blade, SFIV, Rainbow Six, Modern Combat, NOVA and Dead Space (World)?

I doubt the reason is the Iphone not being able to run it.

I believe it is because of screen space. There wouldn't be enough room to put the hud, the move stick, both shoot buttons, the switch weapon arrows, and show enough info on the rest of the screen.

It only takes a simple question to change everything.

That looks really cool. It's to bad I don't have an ipad.
