Halo 3 ended (spoiler alert) With master chief drifting in space. (wait hold on, who needs a Blam! spoiler alert for halo 3? Screw it, no (Spoiler alert for you)!) Right, so master chief is drifting in space and goes into a cryo pod. The series starts and ends in a cryo pod. What better ending could have been made? Im not going to even recognize halo 4 as a game. When it does come out, and everyone knows that I was right, and the game sucks. Let it be known that I was right from the start.

thank you, oracle.

I think Halo 4 will be epic... a world without halo is not a happy prospect. Besides, im sick of playing in halo's past (ie ODST/Reach)

Life Is A Gift, That's Why They Call It The Present.

It is called a "Universe" for a reason - Lots of stories and possibilities.
This is a new trilogy with two old characters as of now. Why not want more? Forget the old Halo game for a second and think of this as a completely new trilogy.
I am looking forward to them all.

What better ending could have been made?

you are clearly a 12 year old casual fan that knows nothing, if you read the terminals you would know that it was only the beginning.

not to mention halo cryptum elaborates on the forerunners and halo glassland will close the gap between halo 3 and 4.

stop brown noising bungie.

Wow. Just wow. The game isn't even out yet and you Know It's going to be bad?

Riverside23: For all the women of the group, if you've got a real man at least let him have his big piece of chicken.

WhtButterflyLiz: lol. Bring home bigger chikkinz, then, real man!!!

DEATHPIMP72: *throws pterodactyl on table*
Suck it JoeSki!!!

I'm looking forward to Halo 4. I want to see the series continue with Master Chief.

Sangheili Major: "Brute ships. Staggered line! Shipmaster, they outnumber us, three-to-one!"

Rtas 'Vadum: "Then it is an even fight. All Cruisers, fire at will! Burn their mongrel hides!"

Are you serious? It won't be known that you were right from the start, because you won't be "right," as such.
Did you not see the Legendary ending where the ship is drifting toward a mysterious planetoid?

You have an opinion, and if you haven't seen the Legendary ending of Halo 3, I suggest you go watch it, because I can't imagine you would want them to leave it on a cliffhanger.

Personally, I've been wanting a Halo 4 since I saw Halo 3's ending.

you are a good translator
Idiot can be a hard language to learn, but once you get it down, everything becomes so clear! The whole world will make sense to you.

Halo 4-6 will be about John's actual destiny.

  • 08.03.2011 7:47 AM PDT

No, it ends with the Chief drifting towards a mysterious and unknown planet with literally none of the myteries brought forth in IRIS or the Terminals answered.

You know, I long for that time when the ignorant knew that they were ignorant, and either had the intelligence to stay humble and keep to themselves, knowing that their uninformed opinions would not fare well with others, or they had the intelligence to alleviate themselves of their ignorance, so that they could form an informed stance on things, and be knowledgeable and helpful in a discussion. You, judging by your laughable, and quite frankly idiotic ignorance, clearly lack the intelligence to do either.

I mean, really, it's several times easier now, than at any point in history to do a little research and lift yourself from ignorance, but apparently, you aren't even smart enough to do a quick 30 minute research session using nothing but a search engine and your keyboard. As others have said, there is quite a number of things to be tied up, both directly reffered to and alluded to (terminals is a big one). So no, unless you're an idiot who for some reason appreciates the storyline of halo yet knows jack-s**t about it (hey, that's you!), Halo 3 did not have a good enough ending to end the story of Master Chief.

Besides, this is opinion, so it's clearly subjective, but laying a legendary hero to rest in an indefinite sleep amidst the seas of infinty (and infinite possibilities) sounds like an end to the first segment of a long saga, yet a perfect transition into the next segment.

I'll make it clearer: I'm not insulting you for your lack of knowledge of Halo, that would be stupid. I'm insulting you because despite your lack of knowledge of Halo, you claim to know what's best about Halo. Seriously, you're a moron.

Been a Bungie fan since the days of Myth TFL.

This is a business, plain and simple. It's even more of one now that MS is at the helm (they've already stated the desire to have more than 2-3 years between Halo games).

Luckily, Bungie got to set the table. They've told the story of Master Chief and laid out an expansive universe of possibilities. I am weary of another trilogy... the first seemed plenty for me. But I await this latest offering and hope Frankie can carry the torch.

  • 08.03.2011 9:34 AM PDT

Maybe 343 could end their last game with MC in a cryo pod too. Happy?

  • 08.03.2011 9:51 AM PDT

@accordingto343

Your one stop shop for all of 343's fabulous errors and ridiculous notions in the Halo lore.

Why? That's not even a good way to end. They either have to kill Chief or have him move on with the Forerunners. Those are the two best endings I see.

  • 08.03.2011 9:52 AM PDT

What we do in life, echoes in eternity.

I actually think the game will be pretty badass. If you didn't know, many of the developers from Halo 1 and 2 left Bungie for 343.

So basically Halo 4 is gonna be just as amazing as 1 and 2 (imo of course)

Halo will always be THE BEST Sci-Fi shooter franchise of all time.

  • 08.03.2011 10:03 AM PDT

That's a horrible ending. Just "leave" him there, floating in space forever with Cortana (who is on the verge of rampancy mind you)) would be the worst ending ever, not to mention the fact Cortana would essentially be tortured for many, many years. That ending sucks.

its obvious that your dumbass didn't see the legendary ending that showed that there was going to be a halo 4, also halo 4 will be the -blam!-! and while your -blam!-in up a storm about it and crying like a little girl on her period! i'll be enjoying Halo 4.

OP, you are smart enough to understand the basic and obvious implied structure and nature of the true Halo story - a story that is concluded in what we call "Halo 3". Therefore, let us treat Halo 4 as an artifact of the canonicity you and I know it to be and show others how they follow a different story than the trilogy - than Halo - if they disagree.

I disagree with the fact that it WILL be bad, that's just not true. Although I do think it's a little wild that they are making 3 more games as long as the project is in the hands of Frankie I can't see it being too bad since 343 is made up of people who care about Halo and the universe in general, they put out a lot of really cool Halo content and I'm sure this will be cool too.

Heh, but I'm sure you'll know the inevitable. Millions of fans will buy halo 4, drowning out your claim.
To Microsoft you're an insignificant bug.
