so if Bungie has all of those domain names reserved, is it safe to assume that it will be a "choose your side" game?

as in "join up with this crowd and defeat that other one"?

As in they're factions, yes, most likely.

I didn't know math was going to be involved! Now I'm definitely not getting it!

If you meant "factions" then yes, I'd also assume you're right.

It makes so much sense that each of those symbols represent a faction!

Basically, the MMO prediction is right!

I actually will believe most leaks relating to Bungie projects from now on after both the plot details of ODST and Reach screenshots were leaked before either game was announced.

There's no substantial evidence to prove that they are factions at all. All they were were shirts with logo's on them worn by bungie members with names given to them. They could be dev teams.

Bungie has always been doing this. Look at ODST for example. First time we got a clue to anything was the screenshot of Frankie with the Super Intendent on his shirt.

These have to do with the game some way.

Ohhh I remember those days. As Joe Staten said in a podcast; "Well if they don't examine it we certainly implore it. We're always hiding cheats and secrets to just give a little tease, a tickle." or something like that. (It was either the "lost episode" or the "real one" along with the true reveal of ODST I don't remember if anybody cares to listen.)

Love their tickles personally.

They obviously do. It's just what exactly are they? I am a firm believer that they are in fact Factions, and Destiny is an MMO. I may be wrong, but hell it was fun guessing :P

What I want right now is an ARG, well not now. It's a bit too early for an ARG now, maybe a month or two before Bungie Day the next Bungie Day.

That's about the same time the Superintendent started posting. Well one of them anyway.

I agree I'm just saying, saying they are definitively factions and this absolutely points to an MMO is ridiculous and should be discredited.

"There is no time for peace. No respite. No forgiveness. There is only WAR!"

this is going to be a BIG LONG STRETCH but it made sense while i was sleeping earlier.

!!Warning!!

Wall of text approaching

The middle of the dead orbit symbol resembles the 7th letter of the hebrew alphabet, "Zain" when translated back to English it reads "M" so im thinking of the dead orbit symbol with a large M in the center. standing for "Mother" or "Main referencing the planet, that the alleged "space craft" found in the pictures from another thread; would be orbiting. If it is indeed large enough, a faction could have based themselves off of this space craft. Maybe its a station, or a failed attempt at space colonization. or maybe theyre from space, extremely advanced in terms of technology compared to the rest of the planets inhabitants.

plot wise, maybe the whole planet was united at one point; and they all pitched in to explore the stars, but the program went horribly wrong; and somehow split the united world into these factions.

All of the worlds nations form the "Destiny trust" a united cause with the sole purpose to explore the stars and ensure the survival of their species.
A catastrophic event happens upon launch and leaves the craft disabled a sizable chunk falls back to the planet and creates mass havoc. The larger portion of the remaining space craft remains inhabited by the people selected for the job, and they form dead orbit. the only space faring nation on the planet. while limited in numbers, they have at their disposal some if not all of the most advanced technology their race has ever created. the ability to strike anywhere and everywhere with out warning. after all it was the rest of the planet that left them all to die up there in orbit.

-New monarchy could be the largest remnant of the destiny trust, enforcing their reign over a large populous with am iron fist.
-Osiris, maybe a smaller following perhaps their leader is a "prophet" or someone whom predicted or knew that the destiny project would fail.
-FWC it is possible that all of the people are separated based upon their beliefs, but FWC just seems like more of a power hungry techno kinda of people. just based solely on their logo
- and lastly of the groups that we know the Seven Seraphs, could very well be a faction of people ruled or governed by a supreme council of seven.

I could very well be onto something here, or this could all just be a bunch of hooplah. but none of this is confirmed. I repeat the previous 2500 character paragraph is all made up.

FYI: I pulled Destiny Trust out of my ass. I was trying to scrounge for more possible factions cause I thought there would be seven.

also, I gave an alternate back story to each faction... here. It's the last post on the page. Enjoy. :)

Exactly. All genres can have fractions. It just so happens that this one may be an MMO.

I don't think they were working on it that far back, dude. I mean the Destiny Awaits thing suggests they were working on it during ODST but H:3? I guess I'll go check an HD clip on youtube.
