I prowl the Bungie Trademarks page occasionally hoping to find anything new or missing, and I've done just that. The Superintendent -- thought to be kept by Bungie for future use -- (mainly because Bungie still owned it even after the 'Halo' deal was made a while back) is now gone from the trademarks page. I haven't seen any news that Microsoft or another company may of purchased it, have any of you? I find it rather strange that the trademark would just simply 'up' and walk out without notice. I'm really bummed, I was hoping to see the Superintendent make a return in the future =/

No, no, no, NO | Infinite Armor Lock?

I was speculating that the Superintendent would appear in future titles, too. I wonder who took the rights to use the plunger-holding face.

Why and how could it be in future games?

The Marathon symbol isn't up there either, despite the fact that Bungie has trademarked that symbol and genuinely owns the rights to that symbol and IP. So I really don't think that it's a big deal.

Yeah, but the Marathon symbol was never on that page in the first place, whereas the Superintendent was. I wonder what this means...

I just did a search on the United States Copyright Office's records and it appears Bungie still owns the Superintendent trademark, unless the page hasn't been updated yet?
