Subject: ViDoc made me realize...

So many people already beat me too it, but I wanted to say... I started off as those annoying kids on Xbox Live with the high pitched voices, trying to make friends, begging for power weapons but I evolved with Halo and it started to effect my life and everyone I knew. I was there for the "LAN matches" the "Gaming Couches", "The Halo parties", Hell I've even played Halo Tournaments at my school :P.

The ViDoc was right Halo wasn't just your everyday FPS n kill bad guys. It was a world, a universe, a story. It was like reading a Novel and you had to beat a mission to turn the page. It was an epic Journey.

The ViDoc made me realize that as I look back on it, and reflect.Sometimes I see kids playing outside having fun and I feel bad that I wasted my time playing halo, but I look back. Sure I wish I was out there but there will always be time for that. The time and money I have "Wasted" on Halo, to me was 100% worth it! I mean looking back at my life (i'm only 16) and realizing that Halo CE to Halo Reach I had some of the best moments of my life. (its sad but true). Like I said all the parties, get together and like the ViDoc said, it didn't just put together a game with an epic story it also put together a community and a brotherhood. I wanted all the Halo fans and nerds and gamers to be proud of that and represent. We have to keep this Halo community strong and re-build it if necessary.

Nobody cares about anyone else's opinion - be it mine, yours, or a cult of angry star wars nerds - when they are enjoying what they enjoy.

Everyone cares about opinions, that's why we socialize on a forum with strangers.

We all started off as one of those annoying kids. Well, most of us.

I remember chastising someone for taking the Sniper Rifle without asking me first. *sigh* Those were different days... sometimes I wonder if kids should be allowed to play games online.

Wow you took the words right out of my mouth, i started of like a little kid like that and now im almost 14 and i can still remember the first time playing halo. When i look back and think of great memories most of them are from halo. For example when me and my two bestfriends on xbox live used to spend all day glitching in halo 2. wow i love you bungie!

To Original Poster-

Thank you for a really good post. As an older gamer myself (26-36), my perspective is a little different and it is refreshing to see someone your age with some.

I also feel part of the same community and it makes me happy to share it with people of all ages and hopefully with my son one day.

I have to say that I started out kinda like you op, my friends got me into Halo3 in 09. I was a huge fan of that game I just had to play the first two, I got a hold of a H2 copy from one of my friends and ended up downloading the first game off of xbl. Now I love the story so much I've read the novels and one of the graphic novels hell I even bought Halo Legends. Now my friends are big fans also so we would get together about once a week or once every other week and have what we dubbed our "Halo parties" where everyone would bring their box, a copy of the game an ethernet cord and a tv, we would all sit outside from early evening well into the next morning, laughing and just having plain old fun. Now we can't all get together like that due to jobs and whatnot, but we still get online and play, the only thing better is the fact that there are no more mosquitoes. That ViDoc renewed my endeavors to break out into the game industry as a 3d modeler but first I have to finish this dang thing called college xD

The community is strong and will follow the company wherever they decide to go, See ya starside!

Also: Thanks for making my teenage years fantastic and full of blaming awesome moments!

Play Halo, like a boss.

I always make sure I balance playing games with my social life but Halo is the greatest series I have ever had the joy of playing. So many good memories, excited for Bungie's future too.

I came into the Halo world already matured ^=^ I wasted all my nagging and little kid voice behind on the ps2 Socom but anyways Halo was a very good game. Actually thanks to Halo me and a couple of friends started a gaming community and featured Halo as everything. I guess I am very greatful ^=^ thanks bungie. Hope to work with them one day
