Subject: Bungie's next game.

So basically it is going to be an MMORPG then.

With such an open landscape, from the Vidoc, and the desire from Activision for making an MMORPG for the consoles, and the fact Bungie are now owned by Activision.

It was a huge rumour one year ago, and it looks like its going to be true.

Cant wait really, just a shame that PS3 are going to enjoy it aswell as us Xbox fans. About time an MMO was made for the consoles.

You mean MMOFPS?

I'm not afraid to take a stand
Everybody come take my hand
We'll walk this road together, through the storm
Whatever weather, cold or warm
Just let you know that, you're not alone
Holla if you feel that you've been down the same road

I dunno i bet they would have thought about people thinking that the mountains meant it's be and mmorpg you never know, he was putting the mountains down so easily on a bank canvas, he could have just been demonstrating something from years ago. What ever they do, i just hope its good.

I used to get on these forums back in the Halo 1, anticipating Halo 2 days...I'm back :)

Right now, this is all speculation. It could still be anything.

Nobody cares about anyone else's opinion - be it mine, yours, or a cult of angry star wars nerds - when they are enjoying what they enjoy.

Everyone cares about opinions, that's why we socialize on a forum with strangers.

1) Bungie is an independent company. Their games will be published by Activision, but they are not themselves owned by Activision.

2) We don't know that the new game is going to be an MMORPG, or an FPSRPG, or an MMOFPSRPGBBQ. It's all up in the air right now. Be patient.

3) Personally, I have this crazy theory that Bungie is actually working on more than one game, and they're only alluding to one of them for the time being. Maybe it's just the conspiracy theorist in me, but I think Phoenix may have actually risen from the ashes, based on recent evidence.

I left my witty signature at home.

Near the end of the video you can see a screen with the words "Gameplay Between Landmarks" as the header with a couple of lines going through a drawn forest. Looks like either an RPG or an MMORPG.

Looks like an RPG set in space on other planets, like Mass Effect.

"Spartans never die"

I saw James Cameron's motion capture rig and I was sold. I think this vidoc made me realize that while I love Halo and will continue to be a part of it, my real reason for such passion is Bungie's execution and I consider myself more excited for Bungie's future than I do Halo's future.

Uh, no. Bungie is not owned by Activision. Their only relation is that Activision publishes their games, nothing more. Activision doesn't and can't control what projects bungie is and will be making.

Please don't base your speculation on false facts.

bungie is going to try to set it up again to try 2 be better than MW3 so bungie is going to try 2 make their game like the call of duty games. What they should do go back to the game format in halo 3!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 08.04.2011 1:56 PM PDT

"Bungie is not owned", OK you guys are just nit-picking. I was just generalising at the fact that they are the publishers, which basically means owned. Also, look behind you (No not literally you retards), the backdrop for the website isnt stars , its land detail with contours and map markers, at one stage there was a compass on it.

Bungie themselves have always been keen on the whole Massiveness, look at Myth, basically watch the Vidoc.

I highly doubt they're even doing anything similar to CoD. This is a non-issue.

And in my opinion, Halo 3 was the worst Halo game to date. Just wasn't fun to me.

It's not the same thing. Bungie owns their company, which means Activision can't tell them which projects to pursue or how to use their IPs.

No it doesn't. Activision's publishing this new game and whatever else Bungie churns out in the next 9 years, but they don't own -blam!-. If you're not willing to acknowledge the difference, you shouldn't bring it up.

Let's be nice, guys.

The fundamental difference between Bungie being independent and being owned by another company is freedom. Activision can't influence Bungie's creative choices and business decisions, whereas if they truly owned Bungie, they could. This is why the Phoenix project was cancelled when Bungie was owned by Microsoft.

FALSE, bungie is independent. They signed an agreement saying the next 10 years anything they want to publish can only be done through Activision (which is owned by Blizzard). Activision is the biggest publisher of games in the world. This is a fantastic step for Bungie to release content to PS3, Xbox360, PC, Nintendo Wii U, Mac, Smartphones and Facebook/Google+ and totally blow the Call of Duty sales records out of the water.

It was a huge rumour one year ago, and it looks like its going to be true.

No Rumor, bungie said it was funny to see the community explode about an MMORPG, what was really said was it was going to be a "MASSIVE MULTIPLAYER GAME WHERE YOU ROLE PLAY" They said it was a joke, but it would be 16 to maybe 32 or more players in multiplayer. Not true.

Cant wait really, just a shame that PS3 are going to enjoy it aswell as us Xbox fans. About time an MMO was made for the consoles.

There is a cross platform MMO already on consoles...it's called Final Fantasy Online...
