First of all, there are many Bungie members working with 343, so it's basically just going to be Bungie v2.
Wrong.

Also, look at Halo:CEA. It's a pixel-perfect remake of the game that started it all, made with EXTREME care. They didn't put anything in that would change it at all, except a shiny new layer of graphics. This shows that 343 definitely has the potential to make games on par with Bungie.
Just because the folks who touched up/restored Michelangelo's painting in the Sistine Chapel did a great job doesn't make them brilliant artists. Their own work does, hence why the world won't definitely be able to say if 343 has what it takes until Halo 4 is released.
Secondly, did you want Halo to die? Think about it, if they just cut Halo off right after the abomination that was Reach, the franchise would've just died right out. Personally, I want to continue playing awesome 10/10 games for years to come. Nothing else can even hold a candle to Halo as an FPS.
What if we don't think Reach was an abomination? What if we (at least me) think the Story was awesome in that it gave a great background on how Master Chief & Cortana became the 26th Century's Mr. & Mrs. Jones?
The abomination, honestly, was Halo Wars. It was a game made to capitalize on the popularity of the franchise (Like how there were 4 Law and Order series on at one time on NBC) without seriously thinking about the consequences of over-saturation. That's why I hope Halo 4/5/6 are released over 9 years instead of 6, with minor campaign expansion packs (or companion games like ODST) released in between 5 & 6.
Lastly, if Frankie plays his cards right, Halo can only move forward. All that has to happen is 343 returning to the Golden Triangle that Halo was birthed from, and running that on a Reach-Quality netcode. (For MP anyway.)
Discuss.
If Frank plays his Cards right, Halo will continue to be in FPS gaming what Apple is to the phone and digital media industry - the one entity that changes the game each time they move.
Until Bungie does it again with the new IP.
