I use a standard WASD for movement, but I swapped melee from F to Q and use my mousewheel up/down for weapon/grenade swaps. Does anyone else use a radically different scheme?

Also, does Halo PC support analogue movement with the Xbox controller (i.e. you can creep slowly enough not to set off the motion tracker)?

Arrow keys for movement, End button is to get in/out hogs etc., Delete to switch weapons, Ctrl to jump, Home is the flashlight. Left/right mouse buttons fire/grenade, wheel up zoom, wheel down melee, Wheel button crouch. The only thing I don't have handy is grenade switch which is G.

I was never able to get used to WASD because the W is not directly over the S and that threw me off and affected my playing.

I'm left handed. Movement with arrow keys using right hand. Steer/look with trackball, (Kensington), with left.

End zooms scope, delete next to end is for crouch, (wish there was a crouch lock)

I reload with either the "E" key or the "R" key and enter vehicles with the "E" key as well. Sometimes I hop in a hog when I'm trying to reload, but I have not gotten around to changing it. Works for me most of the time.

Control+mouse click is melee. Jump is spacebar. I can't jump/melee as a result, but I hardly ever need to.

I use default. I can't live without the jump, lookdown, and melee ontop the head combo. It's just what I got used to.

the only changes i have made is i use ctrl to duck instead of c

and i mapped mousewheel down for switch weapon, the front left side button on my mouse is reload, and the rear left side button on my mouse is G. as for the 2 buttons on the right side of the mouse, i dont use them in halo. too out of the way to hit quickly.

everything else is just boring old default.

I use the default settings, but I change crouch from ctrl to C. Besides that nothing else.

You can't plug in an Xbox controller to your computer anyways, but I happen to have a Xbox 360 controller, which is compatible with Windows XP. It is not as smooth as xbox version, but if you move the thumbstick a little forward, it will not go as fast as if you leaned on the thumbstick all the way forward. However it can get uncomfortable since you can only go in 8 directions, since this is the PC version. Because you can walk forwards, backwards, left, right, forward right, forward left, backward left, and backward right. It's still cool though, but keyboards and mice are way better.

Also the AR is actually good in CQB now and no longer a glorified baseball bat.

I use default except for using the arrow keys to move.
Ever since I started gaming I have used the arrow keys because I am left handed.

Z to crouch and wheel click to zoom. that's all I changed. That way I can zoom in and fire really quickly.

You, my friend, obviously need to know a thing or two about PC gaming.

Halo PC is meant for the keyboard and mouse. I have the Xbox 360 controller too. But in the end the mouse and keyboard rules all FPS games. Halo PC does not support the auto-aim for controllers, thus you cannot get the same effect as you would on an Xbox. Seriously. I'm not a PC purist who believes all games should be played on computers, I just think that the mouse and keyboard configuration is superior to the controller.

I use ESDF for movement. r is reload. w is to switch gernades. spacebar is jump. z is zoom. ctrl is duck. left alt is flashlight. right alt is enter/exit vehicle.

the mouse is to look around, left click is fire, right click is to throw a gernade, wheel up is to switch weapons, and wheel down is to exchange weapons.

EDIT: Almost forgot about melee; its the middle mouse button *clicking the scroll wheel*

I prefer to use the minimum amount of movement... the closer to my fingers the better.

I just use, good old, default.
Default's a pretty decent system in itself, but in all FPS games I change crouch to C.

Keyboard & Mouse > Controller

I hate c as crouch: if your crouching then it's a pain to move right (you have to push c and d together..)

My controlls are really good to use... : ) if you use my controlls...you have no problems with your controls. >: ) My system suits me fine, thank you very much. As I believe everybody has their own configuration which suits them.
