I have a ATI RADEON 9550 with an AGP plug-in, and for some reason i cant seem to run single-player or multiplayer without a low fps. I tried out the system requirements program and it said that i had passed all of the tests. If anyone knows how to improve the fps rating, it would be appreciated.

System Specs: 512mb RAM, 256mb Video RAM, AMD Athlon ~2.0Ghz

Will a NVIDIA 5500FX PCI do good in Halo? Im thinking for one to replace my crappy onboard grapiix. My Dell does not have AGP or PCI-E which sux.

Finally... I had to play to the Silent Cartographer until i got my framerate right.

Just a note: If your game is choppy or laggy in single player, right click on your shortcut, and then click on properties at the bottom of the list. Next, when the properties screen comes up, go to the end of the target line (should look something like : "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Halo\halo.exe"). At the end of the line, make a space and add -use10 or -use11 (end result : "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Halo\halo.exe" -use11). It worked extreamly well and now I have near perfect 30fps.

P.S. - I dont know if it works on other brands of video cards, but my card is an ATI Radeon 9550 AGP.

well the 9550 is a bad card, so that shows why you get low fps. It doesnt matter if it meets system requirements, I dont know where the hell they got them from. The requirements are way too low.

I beg to differ...

I dont believe its my card, and it might be, but all I did was lower the version of pixelshader to 1.1 and now it works fine and I dont notice anything different except the better frame rate. I know it was a cheaper card, but sometimes theres a solution for everything.
