My ideas for what tracks to make:
In the design doc it states 7 Sets of 7 Maps. That's 49 tracks.
I'd split it up in the following. I can design how each would look.
1. Marathon
For Marathon, I'd like to go through all the levels from all 3 games, looking at map designs, as well as the best level names, as well as concentrating on very specific level themes for each For example, we could have these for themes:
i) Outdoor level
ii) Indoor Levels
iii) Indoor/Outdoor Levels
iv) Sewer Levels
v) Lava Levels
I don't know Marathon well enough to suggest defining themes or levels from the games. If anyone else is, feel free to suggest to me.
2. Halo: CE
For Halo: CE, I'd like to use the following locations:
i) Pillar of Autumn
ii) Halo valley (with light-bridge)
iii) Truth and Reconciliation ship interior.
iv) Silent Cartographer island
v) Control Room (exterior and interior)
vi) Swamp
vii) Library
3. Halo 2
For Halo 2, I'd like to use the following locations:
i) Cairo Station
ii) New Mombasa
iii) Threshold Mining & Flood-Study Facility
iv) Delta Halo
v) Sentinel Wall
vi) High Charity
vii) Control Room (exterior and interior)
4. Halo 3
For Halo 3, I'd like to use the following locations:
i) Sierra 117's jungle and dam.
ii) Tsavo Highway
iii) Voi (as seen in The Storm and Floodgate)
iv) The Ark (the sand-dune level)
v) Flood-infested High Charity
vi) Control Room (interior and exterior)
vii) Final section of Halo (warthog run)
5. Halo 3: ODST
For Halo 3: ODST, I'd like to use the following locations:
i) Mombasa Streets
ii) Uplift Reserve
iii) ONI Alpha Site (interior and exterior)
iv) NMPD HQ
v) Kikowani Station
vi) Data Hive
vii) Coastal Highway
6. Halo: Reach
For Halo: Reach, I'd like to use the following locations:
i) Winter Contingency (interior and exterior)
ii) ONI: Sword Base (interior and exterior)
iii) Tip of The Spear (the final section with the teleporter)
iv) Exodus (city-themed)
v) The Package (underground facility)
vi) Pillar of Autumn (exterior of ship)
vii) Lone Wolf (bunkers and bases)
7. Classic Bungie
As a special treat, the final stages should be based on Bungie's other games as well as Bungie itself.
i) Minotaur (a maze-themed track)
ii) Pathways Into Darkness (track around and through a temple)
iii) Myth (track through villages and hillsides)
iv) Oni (track through bases)
v) Bungie Studios (track based on Bungie's new Studio - I've been there so I can figure this one out)
vi) Bungie.net (different rooms themed to the forums of the site)
vii) Bungie Aerospace (Space level with cartoony rockets and the like - could be renamed to simply "Destiny")
I'd never want us to create the map exactly. It'd want it to be heavily inspired, to the point that it'll be obvious where it's based.
For example, for the SC, we'd have it be an island interlaced with Forerunner architecture and entirely surrounded by water. Perhaps with a Forerunner interior section. It wouldn't (and shouldn't ever) take the actual assets from the game.
Thoughts? Suggestions? I tried to take the best and most defining locations and themes from every game. Essentially choosing the ones that stuck out the most to me.
