They would have to do ALOT of things.

1: Take out aim assist.

2: Add dedicated servers along with matchmaking.

3: Create a game mode that almost exactly matches the gameplay of Halo 1 (I am assuming that the "massive" title update will coming in November will do that anyways)

4: Make GFWL optional.

5: Keep the ranking system, BUT add in leader boards that allow people to filter for things like K/D and other stats. This wouldn't really matter very much, but some people might like it.

6. Give people all of the recources used by Bungie to make the game. The ultimate map editor. The ability to pretty much "copy and paste" things from other Halo games. (maybe not a simple as that, but you get the idea)

7. Fix all bugs in game.

8. Allow for atleast 32 player multiplayer.

9. Add some extra stuff. (cool stuff, like a bonus campaign mission where you play as the Cheif on his mission to Gamma Station.

No, just no. This is nothing against Halo: Combat Evolved, definitely since its my favorite Halo, but there's no need at all for this. If you buy Halo: Reach, it should be for Halo: Reach. If you want to play Halo: Combat Evolved just buy it. It still has many players on it to play with and it is the actual game. If they ended up trying to replicate it through Reach it would just be seen as a fail no matter how hard they try.

GFWL shouldn't even be a part of it, in my opinion. I don't really see how GFWL could be just optional in a game. Steam would be a much better candidate for it instead.

Other than that, I like the ideas.

I put in the part about the Halo 1 game mode because it might be good with the Reach netcode and some of the Halo Anniversary maps would be fun to play with it.

True true, but I'd like it to be how 343 is doing it instead of it essentially being a Halo: Combat Evolved remake.

Yeah. That's right. I don't have a 50 in H3. I never got Onyx in Reach. If a game sucks too much, I won't even bother trying for such trivial "accolades". Besides, I've done way more things that take far more skill and talent than anything that can be done in a video game.

Some of this stuff wouldn't be necessary, and some of it isn't even possible.

While I agree that half of it is completely unnecessary, I dont see how any of it would be entirely unpossible

I don't understand how one can make GFWL optional or not. Surely it would make no sense if one was using their steam account whereas one was using their GFWL/XBL account if they were the same name at least? As for purchasing the game, i do believe Steam to be the better option since it is at the moment and probably will be for the foreseeable future, the better service. Could anyone possibly clear things up when they say "GFWL Optional"?

32-player support would require re-coding pretty much the entire multiplayer portion of the Blam engine.

So, I guess not impossible, but certainly not reasonable.

The game sucks already

But porting it correctly would make it not suck.

Yep, this is my list of things they'd have to do to make it so that the game is perfect for PC gaming:

1. Downsize the hitboxes/take away auto-aim even for controllers

2. Add Dedicated Servers that have built in map vote systems, kicking/banning, message of the day, and leave the player count up to the person running the server. (Yes, it would suck with 75 people, you just have to not join a server like that/be smart about the number you use.)

3. A development kit that is comparable to that of the Unreal Editing Kit. That means the ability to do whatever you want with the game/the engine. Enough control for a total conversion mod.

4. Mod support. In game downloading that's based off how games running off Steam (I.e. Counter-Strike) handle in game downloading. That makes every mod joiner friendly. You'll be hard pressed to find a server that uses those abominations of mods you see on HPC all the time with the teleporters leading to the tops of ridges and Snipers that shoot tank shells...

5. More options for visual settings that weren't in previous games. This would mean things like Anti-Aliasing, Anisotropic Filtering, Field of View, Gamma levels, etc. Everything you'd expect from a PC shooter. (Quake Live being an amazing example)

That's all I can think of right now. :P

(P.S. Any in game problems such as bloom and armor lock will simply be fixed by mods to the game through the Editing Kit. You'll have tons of servers out there that will run them just like the eXtreme+ mod and ProMod for the Call of Duty games.)

1, 4, and 6 are givens. The rest is unnecessary. 3 is downright useless.

Apparently not to Microsoft -_-'

Well what could happen is gearbox makes the port. Then they add a map editor thus, giving us the ability yet again to use 3DS Max as our map maker.
