Old school Bungie, born and raised,
In the Septagon is where I spend most of my days.
Relaxin', maxin', posting all cool,
Talking about Halo, life and some school.
Got in one little argument, and the mods got scared,
they said "You're gonna get banned and your member title'll be bare!"

This is purely speculation/entertainment

One of Bungie's habits is to insert pop culture references and small links to previous IPs that Bungie has worked on.

What kind of references do you think could pop up? What would you like to see?

Try to be specific. What symbols, names, or dialogue? What would it be referencing? In what context would it appear? What kind of game would the next project be to make it work?

I'd love to see some dialogue or a communique referring to the "From the beginning, you know how it ends" tag line of Reach, making fun of the fact that there's suspense even though you know the story already. Maybe something on the lines of:
"Do you think that ship will blow up?"
"Of course not, because it's in the sequel."
"But what if they change it?"
"You can't say something is going to happen in the future when that event already happened in the past which was saying what happened in the future...or something like that..."

I think we will definitely see a lot of Marathon symbols. Probably a few Halo references as well.

I guess we'll be seeing a lot of Halo rings and some number "7" references.

I would love to see, in an MMO or large world style game, a mountain range or some other geographical feature shaped as the marathon symbol.

Also, I think more Septagon references would be cool. We saw one in Headlong, and a few on some computer screens. I feel the depth of its use is far underutilized! :p

There were 2 in Reach that I remember. One on Keyes' uniform, and one on the hull of the PoA.

Speaking of the PoA, an easter egg featuring it would be cool.

If there were weapons in the next IP, I would love to see one or two make it back as bonus, hidden, or secret weapons.

The two iconic weapons of Halo, to me, have always been the assault rifle and the rocket launcher.

A few comical references to the M6D pistol and the battle rifle would also get many laughs.

Next ten years we'll be searching for Halo logos instead of Marathon logos

Such references could include a special handgun called the D6M that you can only get by typing a cheat code in or finding a hidden doorway after completing the game on the hardest difficulty. It fires insta-kill beams of death with a rate of fire a normal M6D. Never has to reload and has infinite ammo.

Or better yet, kills every enemy in the game with three shots, no matter what it is
