Here's the wiki. I know a lot of people hate it but it's not a bad jumping off secondary source.

Old school Bungie, born and raised,
In the Septagon is where I spend most of my days.
Relaxin', maxin', posting all cool,
Talking about Halo, life and some school.
Got in one little argument, and the mods got scared,
they said "You're gonna get banned and your member title'll be bare!"

According to Halopedia, approximately 23 billion humans died. That includes civilians and UNSC alike.

Why do people always think if it's editable it's wrong ?
I'm sure even if someone edits it is always still right...btw most of players take info from wiki.

Roberto, they gave the source...

Halopedian(the better wiki) says Palace hotel as the source of the human death toll.

Edit: If the page has no sources, then it can be taken as semi-true/not true. If the page has sources, I don't see why it would be viewed as false.

Casualties of all races? The Bestiarium reveals their Homeworld's populations. Nothing more.

@OP: 23 billion for Humanity.

This, I understand that the wiki should not be the word of god, but the amount of hate I have seen recently is somewhat frightening.

Even with sources it cannot be trusted. Before I got to the MAC article half of the sources there were completely irrelevant and directed you to pages that had nothing to do with anything.

And the Sangheili's 8'6 height is still sourced as the Bestiarium when it is actually the Combat Evolved game manual that states that number. I'm just leaving it to see how long it stays there. I wonder how many other "sources" are like that.

This man, this man right here put it so eloquently that I actually cancelled my own 2000+ word long post.
/slow clap for respect

:)
The person who said participating is important, not winning, obviously never won anything.

I sometimes wonder what the military casualties are of the whole war in total.
