If you have ever visited the Flood lately, you would know how some users spam threads with "John Cena" links and it's an aggravation to scroll all the way down the page to view other posts.

The majority of the time, the posts are already reported and are "hidden". However, that might not be the case. What I'm suggesting is that after reporting someone with those type of posts (spam, john cena links, etc.) that are extremely long, should be hidden after pressing the report button.

Anyone else agree?

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

But what if someone makes a good post using 9,000 words?

Hiding the post doesn't make it hidden to everyone else however, just the user who reported it. I should of elaborated.

Are you saying the post should be hidden after one report?
Or that the post should be hidden only to that user? Also, why bother limiting it to long posts? People will just report all long posts so they don't have to scroll as much.

Don't animals have free will? They are free too make choices as well?

Implementing a system in which any post reported by the user appears "hidden" to that user wouldn't be a bad idea.

Just the user who reported it.

Most of time, if someone makes a long post, it's usually involved in a discussion where all of the trolls and such won't be in.

Why do people in ship mutinies always ask for "better treatment"? I'd ask for a pinball machine, because with all that rocking back and forth, you'd get a lot of free games.

Maybe in order to understand mankind, we have to look at the word itself: "Mankind". Basically, it's made up of two separate words - "mank" and "ind". What do these words mean? It's a mystery, and that's why so is mankind.

I think there should be a general collapse post button.

True, but it might cause a few users to report posts that don't need to be reported just to hide them.

Well it's not over 9000 so it wouldn't even matter.

Hence Top Gun's collapse button idea.
