I enjoyed the interpersonal delivery in your video documentary Bungie. I didn't have time to watch it until today, and I must say it was informative and eye-opening. Thank you for sharing so much with us. It's nice to finally have the story from beginning to end. Many questions were answered. Another short sentence.

I thought I'd tell you all a little of my story regarding Halo Bungie - it seems only right that I do so given the enormous reality dump you just took on my head. So, hear it goes...

In 2001, when Halo first came out, I was a regular at a gaming center in Columbia, Missouri called The Wreck Room. Some of the oldest members of the online competitive BTB community frequented the very same establishment with me. We all played on these now ancient 61" DLP televisions - 4 of them - 2 on one side of the room, 2 on the other, and we played 16 man LAN games of Halo from store open to store close. Eventually people started coming from miles around to play in the tournaments we were throwing and things went splendidly until the owner attempted to put in a restaurant - the business failed...and I bought my own Xbox, right about the time H2 was released. H2 was a thing of beauty, but I was grinding through my bachelors degree at that point and I didn't have online access beyond the computer lab at school. My entire H2 experience consisted of glitching, campaigns, local 4 player, and super-bounces for hours. I did not play a game of H2 online until after the release of H3. I bought a Halo 3 Edition xbox360 and never looked back.

I played thousands of games of Halo 3. I've lost countless hours of sleep to play that game; I sacrificed many a hot pocket to the Halo 3 gods; I was the matador for many a red bull in my time (all the while wrapping up my graduate degree in Western History & Theology). Halo 3 is when I fell in love with your games Bungie...that's not to say that I didn't love your previous titles, they were also the bee's knees, but I really got in touch with your genius in H3. I thought it couldn't be topped.

Then came Reach. I'm a big fan. The best Halo game to date (not a political statement). It has, and will continue to prove itself to be a tremendous leap in the right direction for FPS console gaming, and may mark the next big gateway into truly interactive gaming experiences - a direction I really hope you're heading. The truth is you guys & gals are innovative and more important than that, hungry. I have all the faith in the world that you will not disappoint with your next universe; I know you won't; you can't.

I will leave you now, in your grand fortress of solitude. You will be missed during your absence. Thank you. So long, and thanks for all the soffish.

Now, I walk alone.
