Click the report button. -blam!-, refresh the page and click it again if you want. A warning bar will collapse the post after enough people report it, it's not a complex solution.

Now add in the spammer posting a new post every 30 seconds

Add in multiple users like last night

Have no mods online for 2 hours

Result = Utter hell

Stupid idea. Moderators get enough reports as it is and continuously spamming reports is just unnecessary.

  • 08.07.2011 5:50 AM PDT

My solution is just not click the link and wait till a mod gets rid of it. Not very hard at all.

I'm also curious what a person is expecting when they click a link with no relevance to the thread that is just a massive slab of text. What were you expecting?

Any questions about anything, PM me. The only stupid question, is the one never asked.
"But, doctor...I am Pagliacci."

I hate you unless I'm drunk.

And then you get banned for abusing the report system.

The report queue only counts unique reports, i.e. you can only report once.

Exactly.

Well it get's really annoying because it takes up so much space, and it usually happens in the Flood. The thing is, the Mods are never online during those hours. (Not that we can expect them to be)
I usually just PM the most active Ninja and they take care of it, but aside from that, there is really no alternative besides using the report button.

That was more of a joke than a tone of seriousness, guys.

Until someone post this:

I usually play my gameboy while I wait.

Some spammers make relevant post with bad links, and do it over and over.

This sort of thing comes up frequently, and with it, a usual response from either the ninjas or the online team, which is as follows.

If you see a violation, use the report button. Once there is enough reports on a post to warrant the attention of a moderator, the problem will be swiftly dealt with.

If you feel as though there is a problem requiring the immediate attention of a moderator, or that an infraction of the rules is going unpunished, PM a ninja, just do not forget to include all information you can about the problem, mostly the URL.

One of my ideas.

Feline Doom : Steampunk mecha anime with kitties.

Why not -blam!- it? Censoring it would be the best way, as it can totally block the url.

"We live in a special time; the only time where we can observationally verify that we live in a very special time" - Lawrence Krauss.

I was a finalist :P

Here is a solution I have used in the past:
- Click on the report button.
- Private message a moderator

Works until multiple people get on, each posting multiple times, and no mods have been on in 2 hours.

Yeah you see where im coming from.

Posted by: HayabusawarriorSure, in that case it isn't as obvious, but all you have to do is highlight the link and look in the bottom left hand corner and see where you are going. If you don't know the website, don't click. Is it really that hard?

What I meant earlier was in reference to that John Cena retard.

I do that, but what about people who dont know better?

Your assuming the population all knows, which may be true for the most part but not everyone does.

It's simple: Every day there is a window of time where there is no moderation on the site. That's just the way it is.
