Hey guys don't get me wrong but the only reason I stopped playing Reach a while back is because of the necessity to buy DLC for certain playlists. I love Halo, I bought all the DLC for games before Reach but I just never understood why one MUST buy DLC to play. It kinda stinks to be honest...

Can someone with a viable point explain this to me?

You don't need the DLC to play reach I don't have them I just make sure I only play on the list that don't need them.

"I don't care if it's God's own anti-Son of a -blam!- Machine or a giant hula-hoop!"

You don't need DLC to play. You can play every playlist besides 'Premium slayer' and I think it's 'Premium objective'. The DLC simply adds more variety and maps to use both online, and in private games (forge, custom games).

If you are talking about the flashing message, that is for 'Players don't have the recommended map packs'. It's not required.

The only playlists I'm able to get into are the ones with forged maps and MLG..

What does it say?

Halo DLC has never been "required" to play MM. Certain playlists sure, but not MM as a whole. I honestly will never be able to understand the players who refuse to get the DLC. Don't get me wrong it's nothing against you OP, I just don't get it. It's only 800 MS points or $10 at a Gamestop for the DLC. Doesn't really seem to "break the bank" in my book.

Yea but what about the original maps that the game came with? You can't play those in the MM which I kinda miss you know?

Premium slayer and battle are the only ones that need DLC. All the others don't.

Nope you need the Noble map pack to play almost every Competitive playlist.
