I know this was talked about in the Destiny speculation forum, but in Halo 3: ODST there are posters in the Halo ODST campaign level Tayari Plaza that has a symbol on it and a word on it: Asklon.

Is this a company or something in the Halo Universe that I'm not familiar with because I didn't read a book or something or does nobody really know?

Pictures of these posters:

Here.

Here.

And here.

About the first one, there's a lot of cities listed on it. This leads me to believe they're a company of some sort.

The second one is just a good look at Asklon and the logo.

But the third one has been speculated to have something to do with Bungie's new IP, Destiny. Also, there are some symbols and names that have recently been trademarked by bungie believed to be factions in this new IP. One of them is Dead Orbit and its logo has a symbol similiar to the Earth and the moon in that picture. And, once again, it has Asklon and the logo.'

Once again, sorry if this is already a thing I just don't know about. Thanks.

Hello! I'm Bunie.net's resident medical student (hell i'm sure there are more but I'm the only one who openly declares it!) I love my emblem, and I am periodically active.
I have a Twitter

I get the feeling Asklon is a telecommunications company in the Haloverse, but i believe Bungie were hinting at their new game with the Destiny Awaits poster, but none of us saw it!

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

Yeah pretty sure that is just a company Bungie made up and placed fliers for around some buildings to look more realistic.

We were somewhere around Barstow...

Cool. I've never seen or heard anyone talk about that before, you may well be on to something.

I thought that too but I felt they were displayed too prominently for them to be just the AT&T of the future, y'know? There were lots of posters and signs I didn't take pictures of too. They're featured more than the Opti-whatever company that makes the health packs.

Eh

OT: I noticed a TON of Asklon logos as well in ODST.

  • gamertag: [none]
  • user homepage:

"Just as the wave cannot exist for itself, but is ever a part of the heaving surface of the ocean, so must I never live my life for itself, but always in the experience which is going on around me.” - Albert Schweitzer

It looks like an upside down version of the symbol from the end of the ViDoc.

Nice find!

What are we supposed to be discussing here?

"Nothing in the 'Verse can stop me."

Asklon was the company that made the Warthog and its civilian counterparts. I did a lot of research on the 'Hog when the All-Stars were running.

Well then one has to wonder why, what is essentially the Ford of the future, is so prominently featured in a city. We don't see Ford posters ALL over the place in, say, New York City or Los Angeles.

Also, I can only assume that in the future there cannot be only one motor vehicle company, if anything I would think the field would be much more diverse. To monopolize the automobile industry is nearly impossible. So, why such a prominent display of them? It just seems out of place.

Also, @Yoozel, maybe, and this is quite a stretch, but it could have been a beta Destiny logo? Maybe? Idk, they seem similar enough for it to be likely.

They're making a racing game. With Warthogs. I'd pay.
