I used FPS limiter for the first time yesterday, and I have to say, it really breathed new life into this dead forgotten game. No more lag, no more mouse problems, and no more vertical tearing.

I'm going to post a guide to tweaking Halo 2 later today if I have time. I hope it will help people.
:O And how long ago did I tell you to use that, mister!?!?!? (Or was that someone else? I've been losing it recently so I honestly have no idea..)

I got it for like $6.50 haha. It isn't as bad as you people make it out to seem. I can see 1v1s being fun haha...

WHERE??????????? Was it BNIB?

It was like $13 on amazon and I had like $7 gift card balance that I was never going to use. So it was actually 13 but it felt like it was $6 =)

Yeah. That's right. I don't have a 50 in H3. I never got Onyx in Reach. If a game sucks too much, I won't even bother trying for such trivial "accolades". Besides, I've done way more things that take far more skill and talent than anything that can be done in a video game.

It is the opinion of nearly the entire PC gaming community that H2V sucks. Discuss. :)

Bandwagon Fallacy.
Case closed.

PC gamers number in the millions. The amount of people that would actually say that H2V is a good game is around 50. It's a bit more than a mere bandwagon; It's a solid consensus.

Flat-earthers use the same argument, calling belief in a round earth "bandwagon fallacy". We know how stupid they are. It's no different in this case.

It's very different. The Earth being round has been proven. If someone doesn't think it's round then that someone is called ignorant. Enjoying/liking a game more than another one does not take proof to validate the joy.

Well then maybe you should fall into the category that Wreckoner pointed out? If you can't distinguish the context of your own thoughts. . . well I don't what to say about that to be honest. Or it can always be good to tell the truth if that's the case.

Something said in a hostile way doesn't make it false. What opinion was being given in this thread that was different than mine, may I ask?

I don't disbelieve that a hostile statement can be false or true. All I am saying is that you support and agree with WreckonerH's hostile statement. Essentially the fact that you support his hostility is hypocritical. It's hypocritical because you condemn me for being hostile while, at the same time, support a statement (by WreckonerH) that is hostile.

People in this thread are making opinionated statements that you do not agree with. Are they not?

Posted by: Ben2974
I claimed that your first statement was hostile towards Wreckoner, because it was. Any anonymous user would find that comment more on the aggressive side rather than neutral. I guarantee it. Also, I support his hostility because it's true. He followed with a hostile response because you (unfortunately unknowingly) began with a hostile response, followed by Omega's brainless response (sorry, it's only true). That's how things usually tend to unfold when people don't know each other all that well.

And mind you that I did not point out to anyone specifically, not even forum-specific, about who I believe carries the traits that Wreckoner claimed people such as Omega to have.

Okay. It's with great sorrow that I come to you today. I have been disingenuous and irresponsible. That is why I'd like to officially apologize, today, for my hostile response. *twitches nervously at podium* I'm deeply sorry for all the pain and sorrow I've caused *sniff* my family and my lovely wife, [insert fictitious babe here] *tears start to stream down face*

It really does help. Some people experience jumpy framerates and FPS limiter seems to fix it (On my laptop anyway, there was a consistent stutter with frames jumping from 60 to 20 etc). Capping the framerate to 30fps with fps limiter on my laptop sorted that. With my PC however, i've never had issue's and play with vysnc.

I can't find a download for the FPS Limiter anywhere, can someone send me a link?

Halo 3

Why do you think I can't distinguish the context of my own thoughts?

Because you apparently did not know you were being hostile. You didn't know how to encode your message correctly in the way you intended it to be decoded by the receiver. This shows your lack of basic communication skills. (Unless you were lying about not knowing you were being hostile).

I supported his hostile statement because there was a reason behind it which I agreed with. I dislike random hostile statements that are not called for to begin with.

Okay. It's with great sorrow that I come to you today. I have been disingenuous and irresponsible. That is why I'd like to officially apologize, today, for my hostile response.

Apology accepted. Learning from mistakes is normal.

Okay so I made a statement that could be construed as either hostile or not. Does that really mean that I lack basic communication skills?

My Reply
I had a reason behind my (hostile) statement. If both mine and WreckonerH's statements had a reason behind them then why is it that my statement is random and uncalled for while WreckonerH's is not?

My Reply
I was being a little sarcastic. In all seriousness, I find it hard to be genuinely sorry for my statement. But I will apologize anyway to mend whatever wounds there may be.

I apologize.

There.

But you didn't have an ambiguous statement. That's what I've been getting at with you all this time....your statement was hostile- for no reason! And that's why I responded the way I did in the first place. Jeeze!

This is the same thing. H2V being a bad game has been proven. Very thouroughly. Same as the Earth being round. But if you go to the FES's website, there are people there who will spit argument after argument full of delusions, conspiracies, and excuses to try and justify a viewpoint that no reasonable person would even consider defending.

No different than what you do on this board with H2V. You argue against fact, yet are so deluded that you believe you don't.

My statement wasn't intentionally hostile and it wasn't without reason. However You perceived it to be hostile and without reason. So now I'm letting you know that I didn't mean it to be hostile or for it to appear to be without reason.

Currently you're saying that my statement was hostile and that it was made for no reason while I'm saying my statement was not hostile and that it was made for a reason. It's just your word against mine. Honestly it doesn't really matter anymore so let's just move on.

What defines a good game. And what does the person define as a good game?

What defines a good game: There is a solid criteria to what makes a game good. Things like lag, GFWL breakdown, glitches, etc, are what can mark games as "poor" or "superb".

But how does the person define a good game? This question can only be answered by the individual, and that's why nothing is set in stone for gaming. The player him/herself makes the choice based on his/her experience, gaming preference, interests, etc.
And the level of detail that can go into the individual's desires for what they want to see in a game can extend so far into the personal realm of the player.

Think about it: If what you're saying is Truth (philosophically speaking, Truth with a capital "T"; i'll explain to you what that means if you want to know), then that would mean a game like DOOM is, without question, worse than Halo 1 because of it's technical inferiority, primitive gameplay, etc.
___________________________________________________

Conclusion: There is no "proof" involved in "good games" when it comes down to the players themselves.

Can I dissect your post that started all of this, to help explain why it was hostile due to your diction?

Good job. Here are my conclusions, every single one well-established fact that has yet to be disproven:

Almost nobody plays the game, everyone who's good at FPS gaming says it sucks, nearly every single gamer alive who has touched a PC game says it sucks, and the only people that defend it are those who suck at FPS gaming.

That's called a consensus. It's a consensus that 9/11 was not an inside job. Those who believe otherwise are viewed as idiots, and for good reason. It's a consensus that the moon landing was real. Those who believe it was faked are regarded as idiots, and for good reason. It's a consensus that AIDS was not created by the government to kill off minorities. Those who believe otherwise are regarded as idiots, and for good reason. It's a consensus that H2V is complete and utter crap. See where I'm going with this?

Not sure if i can post a link to megaupload, but here's the link to a youtube video, which has the fps limiter link in the description. I would upload it myself but i have recently reformatted my laptop and since i use the PC more for games now, i saw no need to have it. In any case here is the link to the vid with the link to fps limiter in the description. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=djsX6tiN640

Yes! I got Halo 2 yesterday and I'm having lots of fun! I found a match with 4 or 5 people last night. You also get achievements that go towards your LIVE account. So if you enjoy the campaign and join the right matches, then you'll have lots of fun.

  • 08.10.2011 8:40 AM PDT

This is the average H2 Fanboy.
Xfire: JacobGRocks.
50 in H2/H3? Great, but you still fail at this.

Wow, I come back and Ben is still flaming....xD

As for H2V, don't bother with it. It's deader then dead right now. The last H2V clan even went to CE.

Good news. If you run into any technical difficulties don't be afraid to PM me. : )

Around a week with H2V and probably played a whole 2 hours... I can't bring myself to play a game that has the worst kinds of framerate issues. I can't even play the campaign it's so bad and annoying.

Yep, you need to force VSYNC + Triple buffering in your video cards control panel.

Tell me if that has fixed it, PM me, it's faster :)
