Bungie should've spent the first 10-15 minutes of the game fleshing out the characters...from back...way back. They should let us know how they were all orphaned at the hand sof the covenant, how they all came to be there.

Then we might have actual feelings for them when they died.

Respectfully disagree. This is a game about Reach, not Noble team. Even the legendary edition materials didn't have anything about Noble save for one or two mentions of Jorge. This is a bigger story than a character-based one. Noble are cogs in a machine. Reach could have been about any number of Spartan/army/ODST/navy teams. Think of all the Spartan bodies in the final mission...

They did a pretty poor job of making Reach seem worthy. It seemed more like a civilian farming colony than the most powerful military planet in the UNSC....

Cause you know, to be super advanced in technology it needs to look like Coruscant, right?

Did you even play the game? Or are you just going to state the far opposite of what I did as if there's no middle ground?

Sure, it doesn't have to look like coruscant, but it certainly doesn't have to look like a dead end farming colony.

I've read the book and played the game, in the book there's a huge amount of wild zones and that's in the military section alone (hell they sent the kids to a huge wildlife reservation) so no, Reach's depiction in the game is just fine.

So it seems that we're all in agreement that Emile is a fantastic character.

TxtxtxtxtxT <-- It's a Barbwire Fence. You don't mess with Barbwire Fences.

There is info on Emile. He was born on Master Chief's planet Eridnas II or something like that in the city Luxor. He was up for consideration to be replaced by some Spartan named Linda because he deals with people badly. Oh, he's black also.

Go on the Halo Wiki and find Emile's page. In the Gallery there' a Concept pic drawn by Bungie of his face. He's pretty badass.

He was only going to be replaced if an operation pertaining the insurrection came up because he was rather ruthless against rebels, and his replacement for that op would be Rosenda but she was cut off of the game, otherwise Winter Contingency would have featured her instead of him, seeing how HIGH COMM thought the relay had been taken down by rebels.

Honestly, I'm more confused as to why he never was a big part of any mission... except maybe the last one, but by then the mood felt too rushed and frantic for us to really 'get to know him.'

  • 08.10.2011 8:37 PM PDT

Silly f.a.g.g.o.t! D.i.c.k.s are for chicks!

he was ashamed to be black! jk idk why they never showed him. even in the tribute room his pic is shadowed.

Hoping to one day work for RoosterTeath.com or Bungie

I'm sure every one wouldn't find him ass awesome with a helmet off. Come on whats cooler? The guy who carved a skull in his helmet that he never took off, or the guy with the nice helmet who was a cocky helmet-less -blam!-.

Too stupid to look at his radar? How did he manage to get a radar? Last time I checked it was a motion sensor and one that isn't fault proof for that matter. Slow moving objects are not picked on by it and from what we can see in the Pillar of Autumn, at least 5 Zealots jumped down from the Phantom, with the first one being masked by said Dropship's own spot in the sensor, then Emile had to worry about other 3 Zealots below ("Who's next?" That's why he said it while looking down the platform.) and since the Zealot was going slowly (The only reason why he would take so long to get from one side of the gun to the other) the sensor was not able to pick his presence.

I am Field Master Avu Med 'Telcam, Servant of the Abiding Truth, and I have many brothers.

A god who creates tools is still a god. It is not for us to impose qualifications upon the divine or presume to guess its intentions.

here he is.

Congratulations. Now this thread can be over.

SRK

Well, Emile was considered not very social and didn't interact with other Spartans well. I'm sure Bungie also wanted to show off his purty mask throughout the whole game.

  • 08.10.2011 11:36 PM PDT

They say that underneath Emile's helmet, there is no face...

just another helmet.

Not one member of Noble Team was a "fantastic character". None of them had enough screen time to be characterized.

Actually there was an easter egg bungie put in so you can partially see his face if you look carefully. FYI: He's a black guy if you couldn't figure it out with his voice 0.o

I figured it was because they cut alot from the game, they did mention that there was a mission for every Noble Team member. I don't have the proof, but I do remember them mentioning it.
