Halo 2's music inspires very uncommon waves of emotion in me.

ODST's is good, but it doesn't even compare.

Hello! I'm Bunie.net's resident medical student (hell i'm sure there are more but I'm the only one who openly declares it!) I love my emblem, and I am periodically active.
I have a Twitter

ODST, i'm playing through it again, and its frankly amazing.

Delta 1207 (Sev): "There are 2 sniper modes... Up close and personal, and hello! You're dead!"

I would have to say ODST had my favourite sound track in it

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

Halo 2

Odst by a long ways.

I agree that ODST has the best music, but I wouldn't say "by a long way." I've liked the music from every Halo.

Battle is the most magnificent competition in which a human being can indulge. It brings out all that is best; it removes all that is base. All men are afraid in battle. The coward is the one who lets his fear overcome his sense of duty. Duty is the essence of manhood.
-George S. Patton

No doubt about it, ODST had the best tunes hands down.

δόξει τις ἀμαθεῖ σοφὰ λέγων οὐκ εὖ φρονεῖν.

Euripides, Bacchae. 480.

ODST. Marty outdid himself.

Vengeance only leads to an ongoing cycle of hatred.

ODST and Halo Wars.

"The Elites(bungie) have failed to protect the Prophets(halo), and in doing so, have put all our lives at risk. Let no warrior(gamers) forget his oath, 'Thou, in faith, shall keep us safe, whilst we find the Path."
"With my blessing, the Brutes(343) now lead our fleets(halo games)! They ask for your allegiance, and you(halo and bungie fans) shall give it."~ the changing of the guard (halo developers)

its hard 3 are tied for that halo 1&2 and halo wars

Anything that Marty O'Donnell touches turns into sweet sweet music... I love the Halo soundtracks

It has to be be Halo 3. ODST is a close second, though.

ODST. I'm betting on halo 4 having the worst soundtrack of the franchise. No marty, no good.

That's the number of bans in this thread. Next time you want to derail something, go stand in front of a train.

Don't know how Halo Anniversary and Halo 4 can be in a poll for "Which Halo game had the best soundtrack", the whole thing isn't done xD

Anyway, I'm stuck between ODST and Halo Combat Evolved, hmm.

Oh, and Halo Wars didn't have its soundtrack done by Marty/anyone from Bungie, I believe.

I would say its a tie between odst and halo 2. I loved the music in both games especially the one called "Unyielding" which plays during the quarantine zone and great journey missions in halo 2 or the one that plays at the end of last mission in odst. The halo soundtrack in any of the games is just incredible and it makes certain encounters very epic.

Couldn't agree more

We were somewhere around Barstow...

Halo 2 had the best everything.

  • 08.08.2011 8:58 AM PDT

Halo 2 and Halo 3 had simply amazing music. The siege of Madrigal I specifically remember in Halo 3 even though its in all of them. Halo 2 was a such a ride musically not to mention Breaking Benjamin. Overall though ODST was the most moving with "Deference for Darkness" and the "Overture". Really poured emotion into the game and let the player feel the devastation and despair that was felt throughout parts of the game. Being an alto saxophone player I really respected the solo at the beginning of the game. A friend of mine got to go to a music lecture and Micheal Salvatori was the speaker, I didn't get to go :/. It would be so amazing to see Marty and Micheal creating this music.

I can't decide. I like Halo CE, ODST and Reach's soundtracks equally.

  • 08.08.2011 9:13 AM PDT

You can't beat ODST's.
