Subject: I only played a few matchmaking games in Halo 2

I didn't get Xbox Live until 2009 sadly. I played a few Halo 2 games last year before they shut it down :(. I've had the game since 2005, and I played the -blam!- out of the campaign doing glitches and finding the easter eggs.

So I never really experienced BTB on Headlong or Coagulation.

But how was it? Was it epic?

I run Skirmish!!!

so amazing, honestly better than halo 3 btb by far...

phew.....100 kills today I must be really thirsty

I am sorry but you missed out :(

I played halo 2 when it first came out and it was the greatest feeling EVER! I never experienced anything like it and I am waiting for a new FPS that will bring back that feeling I had.

I remember my very first game and it was a BTB because I wanted to be able to play a shooter with a crap load of people :D

Headlong and Coagulation were also great maps but my favorite map and probably cause it was my first too was Water Works.

lol I remember the first thing that happen to me I was flying the banshie being a noob lol and allowed someone to jump on me and you were able to hear the other team in H2 and the dude who jumped me was all into the game lol he quoted the terminator "get out" and I was like "woooooaaaaaa FRICKEN AWESOME!" then I got kicked out my banshie and he was gunned down by some dude in a warthog :)

I had a blast on Containment on one of my Halo 2 games. I've always loved the Halo 2 Scorpion Tank.

@totallymassive, I will most certainly do that thank you.

I have never played halo 2 online but I wish I could have, why did bungie shut it down?

Bungie didn't shut it down, it was M$. They shut off all original XBL games, not just Halo 2. Claimed it was so we could have more than "100 friends". I'd take Halo 2 any day over virtual friends list. Bungie had nothing to do with it.

I feel bad for you, playing Halo 2 online in its prime in 2005/20006 is some of my fondest memories

I heard someone say once (paraphrasing here) "Multiflag on Blood Gulch with your friends is what makes Halo, Halo." I GUARANTEE that more people agree with that sentiment than "Getting a 50 in MLG is what makes Halo, Halo." - Oboewan42

Bungie didn't, Microsoft did. They needed the Original Xbox portion of XBL offline to update the new one or something like that.

Why does everyone hate Halo 2? Maybe its because its the worst game ever next to mario.

BTB with SMG starts was amazing :)
Hell yeah, it made you go earn your better weapons and was more focused on vehicle-based combat.

I'm with you on that. It seems we may be in the minority here.

I'll tell you, there was nothing better than making a beeline for the sniper on Coagulation, picking up a BR and standing in the middle of the map completely untouchable by the other team as they come pouring through the teleporter, falling one by one.

It was the most unique experience I ever had. Nothing will probably bring back that same amazing feeling of joy and happiness. Halo 2 consumed my life lol. I spent so much time playing it throughout high school.

In H2 Team BTB you actually had a feel for where everyone was on the map thanks to the simple lines of sight and friendly status indicators. Everything was just more...organized and calm.

I missed it too I didn't know they were shutting it down. I was too lazy to download all the maps then when I was about to I found out they shut it down. :(

Halo 2 for Life!

so agree, vehicles were so well put into halo it shamed all other FPS's attempts at it. I mean the tank battles were better then most tank only games, and warthog racing was better then most crash test derby games, and most racers for me lol.
