I understand nothing because my life is a conspiracy.

I was wondering if Bungie still owns Marathon since it was not created under the tyranny* of Microsoft. I ask this because Bungie made Marathon for the iPad and if they would ever do anything with the series again.

*No offense

I hate you unless I'm drunk.

Marathon is part of the public domain now, no one owns it anymore.

Marathon, Myth, Pathways into Darkness, GNOP, they're all still owned by Bungie, only Halo has been sold.

I don't know about the other games but I'm pretty sure myth is owned by whoever published it for Bungie

I would suggest you be more than "pretty sure" when correcting someone in that tone in the future.

As far as I'm aware, the only properties that Bungie created and no longer owns are Halo and ONI. They most certainly do own Marathon.

As a side note.... Halo was not "sold" to Microsoft. They always owned it, because they owned Bungie when it was being developed and released.

EDIT: I stand corrected. I didn't realise Take2 owned Myth as well as ONI.

Also, I don't think Bungie did the Marathon for iPad.

I thought it was just some dude who decided to do it?

Give me solid evidence that projects they talked about in the ViDoc and is also in the 'Games' section of the website are not owned by Bungie.

I was positive Bungie doesn't have rights. And after looking it up, I was right. Bungie lost the rights to Take 2 when they were bought by MS

Myth is owned by Take Two interactive. The not-so critically acclaimed Myth 3 was released by them.

Link me, they must still have some rights, or otherwise they wouldn't be able to put it on their site?

MS bought the IP from Bungie when they bought Bungie. Originally Halo was being develped before they became part of MS, it was going to be on the Mac to start with.

Take Two, in return for their 19.9% stake in Bungie (which will become Microsoft's), is acquiring the complete rights to Bungie's Myth and Oni franchises

Yeah they lost the rights to the franchise, they still own Myth and Myth 2.

Well, if your so knowledgeable about this stuff, explain the difference between owning the franchise and owning the games.

Owning the franchise IS owning the games
