I get that the mods aren't on all day or everyday, but why not have the mods promote trusted members to ninjas and have at least one moderator in each of the bigger forums at all times?

Case and point: don't worry about it. Girls start getting boobies pretty soon, and then you'll have plenty of other things to think about. Being an Inheritor is not a life goal.

The mods are volunteers, you can't force them to be in certain forums. :/

This. If it wasn't so short I would save it to post to more threads telling the Ninjas to do things.

Well, because, you can't trust everyone with Moderator powers. You need to prove yourself and with the amount of crap the mods here put up with daily they would probably find it hard to pick people. Besides, it voluntary, it's not really fair to assign them somewhere.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

42 mods total.

8-10 active all the time (ones we notice)

ehh, but things get done.

If anything they're trolling people who are breaking the rules, and deserve it. They don't go in and troll legitimate threads unless, within that thread, someone says something stupid.

I have seen like the mods kid around or say things they may be considered spam, etc.

They do...about once a year or so. Be patient, we'll get more mods in the future.

But, I have seen mods break rules, alot.

Like posting irrelevant spam, etc for giggles but when we do it, we get a ban.

Could you be so kind as to find me an example? Because almost all the threads created by mods that I see are completely relevant and get Hot Topic'd or Sticky'd.

And what rules do they break?

idk it is not that big of a deal (and I don't want to point out individual users).

I am just saying I have seen it happen.

This I highly doubt. Why would Bungie hire them if they are going to abuse there powers?

I think the mods are doing fine job patrolling the forums (This could because I don't visit that one forum refereed to as "The Reach Forum"), Achronos will probably add a few more adds when Bungie releases their new IP.

They aren't abusing their powers they are just saying things like us but don't get banned for it.

idk the mods are fine.

Well for one, they aren't hired, they're chosen by the Web Team.
Two, most of the things that they post that people consider "spam" are inside jokes from what I assume HFCS, or other members that they know.

╚══╩══╩╝╚╝╚══╩╝╚══╩══╝╚╝

I don't think so. Cops don't get to just grab people off the street and make them cops as well, no matter how trustworthy they seem.

What I think we would benefit from is something of a neighborhood watch. Let the Ninjas pick trustworthy members and assign them a "watchman" title. These members would be just like all other regular members except that when they hit the report button, the reported post goes straight into the queue. As opposed to waiting for multiple people to report, or for a Ninja to finally check his inbox for direct reports.

This would catch the other more persistent, yet less disturbing posts.

Sure, shock sites are usually sent to the queue within a minute or two. But think about all of the flaming and trolling that goes entirely unreported. It most certainly is disruptive and damaging to the community as a whole. But for some reason people don't feel compelled to report these kinds of things.

And honestly, asking members who are mostly teenagers to use the report button more often is like asking them to just take up politics one day. If they don't care, they don't care.

So if the quantity approach is not working, perhaps we should try quality.

You cannot know that for certain. Some may not post often, but you're unable to see what they're doing in the background (how many threads they're locking, etc). The only real 'inactive' mods are: Chris, Jim, Anton, Goweb, Skiptrace, Leche and The Don Wan. So, 7 out of 42 are inactive, while 35 remain activity. I see nothing wrong here.

We experienced users get it, but to someone who is not in on the joke, a five word long post by the Ninjas can look very much like spam.

Just look at Urk's typical posts. Most of them are just goofy and entirely irrelevant to the topic at hand. If he were just a 'member,' we would be using his posts to illustrate to new members what spam is.

I really don't care of people post goofy stuff I just hate when mods do it but another member does it and they get banned.
