What if you don't have any friends on B.net? How would you join?

Maybe you could request a membership if you have a clean Xbox Live account, i.e. no bans, good service record or something?

LOL I would never be able to get into that.

My ban history is very unclean.

Speaking of which, why the hell aren't you perma-banned? You get in trouble like every other day, and you have already gotten several console bans.

Why are you still trying to be part of a community that hates the way people like you pollute?

Honestly, I have had my fair share of bans back in the day when I joined Bungie, it was the first site (forums) I ever joined and I trolled so hard.

Maybe they could add a system in that temporarily bans an Xbox Live account of a user that comes on Bungie and misbehaves?

The strongest Rivals are also the strongest allies.

1-3 accounts per ip

then again..they cauld just change their ip.

I actually think it's a good idea. P.S., GO TO THE FLOOD. IT'S A HELLSTORM.

It's just a random thought, being put into the crucible of the forums for examination, criticism, testing, challenging, being taken apart and put back together.

But think about the title whores we have. Imagine a new level/type of accomplishment. Recruiting, orienting and training new members who comply with rules and even renew the cycle of sponsorship. Imagine a scoreboard or tally page listing your "trainees" and their trainees. A vast pyramid of your effect on growing and improving the community.

Not even kissing ass, I think Recon's idea was a valid suggestion. It's definitely better than what we have.

Now that you've explained your idea more I kind of like that sound of it. I could actually see this working.

Not only that, It would bring the community together again in a more positive way because everyone knows in the back of there mind they can't just misbehave and get away with it.

If it's really THAT BAD (i have no doubt it is) you should PM him. He's obviously online so he has a pretty good chance of responding as long as you sound intelligent in your PM. He probably wont check back in here.

Lol, don't talking to me like I don't know what to do. He took care of it already, and clearly I'm not in the Flood right now, so I'm not going to take the time to PM him. I already PMed Foman and Yoozel, but Recon took care of it fine. Thanks, but no thanks.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

umm what?

I have never gotten a console ban and when I am banned they are for very minor offences like posting something in the wrong forum, etc.

I am here becuase I <3 Halo and Bungie.

I am trying to be a better forum member and I don't want to be a nuisance.

Brainwashing, idiotic media: "hur dur, vido gaems cas vilenc n iz nt gud. dey ned 2 b baned."

Logic: Really? Then please explain how there's violence in third world countries. I guess they're all poor due to the large amount of video games they buy.

How about an IP check? Or your an IP can only be used once, like how you can't link more then one Gamertag?

Are you kidding me? That's so dumb. Any sort of approval is all predicated on bias, and the idea that the Mods should be the source of that approval is ridiculous.

Same thing goes for the friend approval system. What is that?! We have to have friends on Bungie.net in order to join? That's easily a very, very, very lame idea, in which you can instantly see the flaws.

Also, why would I kiss Recon's ass? He's just a user like me. The difference? Bungie trusts him more than me, therefore he has more privileges (rightfully so). Doesn't mean I should assume that his opinion is more valid than mine (I know that's not what you were implying).
I think Recon probably knows that I do actually have great respect for him. We've had a few conversations and he's DEFINITELY one of the better Mods on B.net.

I am a Floodian

I'll support almost any system to stop the rampant creation of alternate accounts by members. I hate them, and I can only imagine how much they annoy moderators.

Even if they did I'm pretty sure you can still tell if its the same person. I think Bungie monitors mac addresses if I'm not correct?

There's a valid lesson to be learned here guys.

Disagreement is not the same as disrespect.

If I toss out an idea, I am expecting it to be looked at critically. That is the point of this forum, to look at a problem, offer half-baked and probably unworkable ideas and while we are taking them apart, we are also seeing the few real concepts that may be helpful or useful. So the next time an idea is tossed, it may have more useful components in it than the last one.

I am not offended if someone disagrees, dislikes, or doesn't understand an idea or opinion of mine. As long as the conversation is civil, that idea has a better chance of improving if we can talk about it, instead of fighting over ego.

I just hate when people are unnecessarily arrogant with criticisms. Sure, if you don't like the idea, say it. Don't call other users' suggestions "the dumbest thing you've ever heard." That sort of behavior belongs in the Reach forum.

And if you think it contributes nothing, then you can easily mental-filter it out like a Cena post. No point in getting involved in a post that you think doesn't contribute. If you take the time to challenge it, you're actually contributing/creating a disruption and potential derailment.

It's all just text and we're all just chilling. No reason for blood pressures to rise over something that can easily disappear with a click of a mouse.

Thanks Recon.

Personally, I like the way things are around here. I like that it's a free system. I like that the Mods volunteer freely, and I love the different types of people we get as a result.

Ultimately, I think the free system is best because it really shows the people who are fans and are committed to the community because they WILL put up with all of the crap that the trolls and "temporary ass faces" put out.

If you real don't like the trolls, then leave. You'll be out the same as you came in. BUT! If you really care, you will work to try and make the community a better place, even when we hit a rough patch like this.

Just a thought.
