Why are the people who makes these posts not banned immediately and permanently?

I've seen people spam the forums for days, sometimes barely having the post removed much less banned. Anyone who links to shock sites should not get a second chance or appeal of any form. Swift merciless justice should reign supreme.

Well, here we are. I guess that it was destined to come to this.

Immediate? We're neither omniscient nor omnipresent.

Permanent? Not all ninjas are omnipotent.

It's just test/links on a page. You should be able to ignore them as easily as ignoring your mom telling you to take out the garbage... again.

This, and they're volunteers. Volunteers with lives outside BNet. To expect them to ban people automatically and have a watchful eye on every post that appears on the BNet forums (all 11 of them) is the definition of madness.

Omniscient? Dress it whatever way you please but all you have to do is pick a random thread on the flood at any time of day and there's a good chance you'll find what I refer to. You all do a good job here in Community but the Flood seems neglected at certain times of day.

I'm fully aware I can ignore them, that's not the point. Point is plenty of people will still click the links if they haven't seen them before.

And I'm 24 years old and don't live with my mother, I thought you weren't omniscient.

See how far that gets you.

He'd have instantly stopped and knelt down, one fist on the ground, hoping to be impervious to the officer's attacks. When this would have failed and he's in the back of the police car, he'd blame his predicament on his friends for not being team players.

I see these threads crop up every time a new spammer shows up.

I usually give the same response to every thread.

Ninjas are volunteers. They are here on their own basis and that sometimes means that no ninjas are online. If you see a spammer, report the post. It is then collapsed, which acts as a warning, and sends the post to the report queue. We don't need more active ninjas, we need more active reporters. The system is a two way street. People need to realize this and report offending posts.

About you being worried about other people clicking the links, there is really no other way they will learn. Those posts collapse really quickly, and if people still want to open them and click the links, there is nothing else you can do. If a kid keeps putting his hand on the oven, he will eventually learn it's hot.

Brainwashing, idiotic media: "hur dur, vido gaems cas vilenc n iz nt gud. dey ned 2 b baned."

Logic: Really? Then please explain how there's violence in third world countries. I guess they're all poor due to the large amount of video games they buy.

People who continually post links need to be perma-banned. It's relatively easy to check bottom left corner or just quote a link. Guess the recents troll links have increased awarness, there's always a positive to everything.

I am a Floodian

They should be perma-banned because everyone should know about them at this point, but not instantly. Big brother isn't that omnipresent around here, yet.

Also, how is anyone fooled by those links anymore? The posts are literally giant blue walls that scream, "I'm a bad link, don't touch me"

Hey Recon, does the report button send a message to a special Ninja Pager to get to the "Ninja Cave" to see what the problem is?

Fair point. But it should at least be nipped in the bud and not allow them another chance.

Bungie had Ninja budget cuts. It's now the report queue the receptionist faxes in.

There's only so much that the ninjas can do at a specific time, and that's even if they are online at all.

I would suggest a new type of reporting system in which as soon as you click that little "report" button, the post that you reported is hidden from you instantly, while another post is sent to the moderator's report que, making you happy, the reported post unhappy, and the ninja who has to look at it unhappy too, so everyone wins.

The same rules apply to other members who look at the reported post, though. If a certain amount of people report it (not just one), it's hidden.

Also, it isn't just these "John Cena/Shane Dawson" jerks who should be reported, it's the people who reply to their spam threads that should also be reported. Posting "Inb4JohnCena/Inb4ShaneDawson" is spam since it contributes nothing to the conversation at hand.

I can't believe I'm going to say this but I honestly believe that the increase of these "shock-site spammers" are because of how the rest of the community is dealing with them. If we didn't maken threads about them as much and just reported them and moved on, they wouldn't be around.

They simply do it for attention. The more someone gets mad at them, the more the S.S.S* love doing it.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

If we don't make threads about it and ignore it, they won't do it anymore.

Their intention is to piss us off and that's what they enjoy.

If we would ignore them, they wouldn't enjoy doing it anymore.

There pretty easy to avoid. If you don't have the ability to check the site by hovering over it just wait for someone to point out not to click the link. Mods aren't going to be there to save us all the time...

Yeah if you see a link that looks fishy, don't click it.

That will save you 99% of the time.

And if you KNOW it is bad, report it.

Yeah, trust me, you have a higher chance of getting banned for doing that than John Cena posters.

Exactly. If I were a mod, spamming the logs with the same report would piss me off.
